Many people begin searching for ways to supplement their income by searching the Internet. The Internet is a great source for information on how to make money but it can be very difficult to find true money making opportunities.

The first thing you must do when searching for a way to make money is to determine how much money you want to make and why you want to make that much money. If you do not know how much money you want or why you are doing it then you will not be able to determine if your primary business model will be able to deliver what you really want.

For example, if you only want a little extra money so you can pay off your bills every month, which we will say is $150 a month then you can search for free ways to make money online and you will likely find thousands of ways to do it.

Most of the time free ways to make money online result in you writing several articles or filling out surveys, and it can be extremely tedious for the amount of money you make. These types of income sources do not pay much more than a minimum wage part time job in your community.

If you only need $150 - $300 a month or so and can't go out in the community then you might be interested in opportunities such as free marketing and surveys. If you can't write articles or are not an expert you could go to Monthly Content and sign up for their services and they will provide you all the content you need as well as hosting and other services to become an affiliate marketer.

Let us talk about what it takes to make more than $150 a month. Let us say you want $5000 - $10 000 a month. Well you will likely not be able to make this income from home without investing time and money.

Most viable income sources and legitimate business opportunities require some type of investment. If they don't then you should really do a lot of research before investing your time into these companies or income sources.
