let's surf

The surfing is a hobby that consists of slid on the waves of the sea on a board, directing it to one or several keels situated in the rear part of the board.

This sport can result risked due to the physical effort and the possible injuries caused by not taking the necessary precautions, as to look at always before taking a wave or to yield the wave to someone that be more near the shoal. Nevertheless, there is not a great number of wounds in the surfing (with the notable exception of Bethany Hamilton) and the use of the "invention"that prevents that surfers from fallen on other surfers.

Variant and techniques of the surfing with board

  • there are two basic categories depending to the size and type of board
  1. Shortboard, or surfing of short board (from among 1.50 and 2.10 meters)
  2. longboard, with boards of equal length or over 2.75 m.  This is the classical style of surfing (practiced in the decades 50 and 60 is the one that caused the Longboards of the present time.

I've always admired surfers for their balance and ablity to control themselves in such incredible conditions. That video was breath taking.
