The Samurai included a 1.3 liter, 63 hp (47 kW), 4-cylinder engine and was ready as a convertible or a hardtop . The 1988.5 model Samurai was retuned for greater on-road apply in the United States . This revision had softer suspension settings and a larger anti-sway bar to lower body roll. A decrease 5th gear (.865:1 vs the earlier .795:1) increased engine rpm and ability on the highway, and improved dashboard and seats designed the Samurai further comfortable.


A recent 1.3 4-cylinder engine with throttle-body fuel injection was introduced with 66 hp (49 kW). The Samurai was withdrawn from the United States market in 1995 due to lowly sales.

It came from the L series which spawned the S series which includes lorded over the 4X4 industry. Officially known at foremost as the SJ413, the Suzuki Samurai was foremost produced in 1983 in Japan. I had a Samurai 4x4 several years ago and to this day it was the 'funnest' car I ever had! I took it everywhere! Great gas mileage and simple to work on....and reliable. I will get another one one of these days and I highly recommend this car! I miss it. :(
