Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients :

  • ½ cup (125 ml) sugar
  • ½ cup (125 ml) vinegar
  • 5-6 tbsp (75-90 ml) light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) dark soy sauce (optional)
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) sherry
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) cornstarch blended with
  • ½ cup (125 ml) water

Procedure :

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and sherry.
  2. Bring to a boil and stir in the blended cornstarch and water to thicken.

Makes about 1 ½ cups (375 ml)
