Phlebitis is an inflammation of the vein walls. It normally occurs in the veins of the legs and can be due to the complication of varicose veins.



Symptoms of Phlebitis :

  • Redness and swelling in the veins, accelerated pulse.
  • Slight fever, and pain in the affected area
  • A complication of this is the formation of a blood clot in the swollen vein, this problem can become serious.

Causes of Phlebitis :

  • Pregnancy and Childbirth operation.
  • Infections in the veins.
  • Disease or injury
  • Slowed circulation during prolonged bed rest.

Recommended Treatments for Phlebitis :

  • Regular exercise to improve blood circulation and the intake of fruit juices to reduce internal inflammation to prevent this disease.
  • Rub the affected area with warm lotion several times a day.
  • Elevation of the affected area.
  • Phlebitis can be prevented with a treatment similar to that of varicose veins.
  • In cases of injury, it is best to take bee propolis to prevent any infection. Consult your doctor.
