- Wash your hands frequently with soap and hot running water. If hot water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand gel.
- When you cough and sneeze, cover your mouth and nose. Wash your hands afterwards.
- Avoid being near others who might be sick.
- Stay home if you are sick, to avoid affecting others.
Precautions for Travellers
- Before you travel, find out what vaccines you will need and where to get them. Visit your family doctor or a travel health clinic at least six weeks before your departure date.
- If you get sick when you are travelling, seek medical assistance.
- If you are sick when you return to your country, or have been near someone who is, you must tell a customs or quarantine office, who will decide if you need further medical assessment.
- If you get sick after you return to your country, see a health care provider. Be sure to tell him/her the countries you visited, if you were sick while away and any medical care or treatment your received.

It is expected that nearly half of American population will be affected by Swine-Flu. This is the opinion of experts.
The same thing holds to other countries and India as well if not taken precaution. The Government should spend heavily to tackle the swine-flu attacks. Treatments should be given free in all hospitals. We are hearing that there is an order for Private hospitals in Bangalore to treat Swine-flu patients free of costs and get reimbursement later. This is a good step.
People should avoid going out and should be indoors as much as possible. Avoid crowds. If your enemy is attacked with swine-flu the next could be you, which could spread through him. So our endeavour should be that no one is attacked. If you are not well then stay at home since your immunity power is low and you could be easily infected. Better wear mask it is a good option. Let our goal is that no one is affected by swine-flu to save ourselves.

Swine flu also is called as H1N1 flu, hog flu, and pig flu. It is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza Virus. It is found that Swine flu mostly attacks children and youths. Elders tend to be safe. So it is but good for all schools to give a holiday for ten days at a stretch to bring down the airborne contents of this virus which may try to spread in these school going children.
Presently it seems that danger is receeding but if it takes his head once again then the best way to tackle is to see that it never attacks children.
One more method of eradicating this flu is by giving treatment freely to those who are affected. If treatment is not free, then people may tend to not go for treatment and then they may become the cause for spread of this virus.
That country which takes good timely actions by protecting its people by giving free medical treatment will never see swine flu in their country.
Somehow India which is not giving much importance to public health has been able to survive this flu. Probably Indian people are used to inhaling of poisonous air in their lifetime hence they are not much affected by swine flu.
Hope the virus in India gets cleared, the sooner the better.
Swine flu is spread through pigs. All animals one time or the other have spread some diseases. Next it maybe that people themselves may start spreading some killing desease themselves when we may encounter crores of deaths all over the world.
World Health Organisation has reported that this Swine Flu virus is just like a sample. Worst is yet to come. Scary in itself people may go out covering their whole body just as a muslim women does. By covering the whole body and just leaving the eyes part open it is possible that the virus just sticks to our clothes. Then back home we could wash this clothes off. It is interesting to know how many people are affected in muslim countries who were burkas.
How it started?
The outbreak came to global notice in late April 2009, when Mexican authorities noticed an unusually large number of hospitalizations and deaths among healthy adults. As much of Mexico City shut down at the height of a panic, cases began to crop up in New York City, the southwestern United States and around the world. The virus is now widespread in the United States and continues to spread from one country to another
Better is to ban people travelling from one infected country to the other.
