Have you ever heard of the word acne? Well, it is a skin disorder, mainly caused by some hormonal imbalance. It has been observed that acne basically affects those in the age group of 12 to 30 years. But why is it that acne is usually found in kids? Yeah, it’s quite simple. It’s because hormonal disturbances in the case of children are not that usual in adults. Moreover, females are more affected by acne than males as they are more prone to hormonal changes. Puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause are the major stages when a maximum imbalance of hormones takes place. Probably, the use of certain treatments may also lead to hormonal imbalances, resulting in acne.

Acne is of various forms, all distinct from each other. Characteristics like hirsutism (excessive hair growth at unusual places); acne flare-ups prior to onset of menstruation; irregular menstruation; and an elevation of androgen levels in blood are sure indications that hormonal imbalances give rise to acne. Prescribed drugs that suppress the production of androgen and reduce the production of excessive oil are used for treatment of this form of acne.

It is now clear that imbalances in hormonal levels give rise to numerous crises. Acne is just one of them. The sole way to triumph over this kind of a problem is to re-balance the hormone levels. There are several cures available. But one should be very cautious when using those drugs as they can produce side effects and worsen the condition of the skin.

Therefore, natural methods are the most preferred means to avoid such complexities. An adequate consumption of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients is the foremost step in treating the acne problem. Herbal supplements added to the diet bring out better and quicker results without any adverse effects.
