Genital warts are contagious as they are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). Genital warts are essentiallya sexually transmitted disease that is passed on due to skin contact during sexual intercourse. They usually appear one or two months after exposure, but can take as long as nine months to incubate.

Research has reported that almost half of the all women with HPV genital warts have no visible symptoms.

There are various methods that your physician can perform for you to get rid of these genital warts. The common ones are using cryotherapy or electrocautery.
