THE WAITER - A Poem by DJ Funktual
63It certainly feels strange to put a comment box under a poem as I'm sure it must be strange to try and think of a relative reply. With that in mind, I would like to welcome you all to do me a solid and just leave me a smiley or something so I know you've been here. Thanks in advance. Yours truly, DJ Funktual
The Waiter
*****by James Freund
The opportunistic circumstances
surrounding human interaction
allow this grifter to cruise
the social pipeline with dexterity.
Hunting fun and abusing words
and ears with rhetorical mischief.
Capitalizing fully on happenstance,
a sycophant of convenient ignorance
skillfully swallowing each clitoris
in exchange for honesty and reason.
Luring them unrecipricated love
and gultlessly sending them away
with a smile and a fond memory.
They leave their currency on the table
while I curse them, salivating.
Maniacal laughter behind my eyes
scanning the public for new fools
but that's just me at work.

Interesting, DJ. I'll be suspicious of all waiters from now on. :)
