God's Creation: Life On Earth

God Loves Everyone

THERE IS NO GOD...

All the wonders around you are accidental. No almighty hand made a thousand billion stars. They made themselves. No power keeps them on their steady courses. The earth magnetized itself to keep the oceans from falling off toward the sun. Infants teach themselves to cry when they are hungry or hurt. A small flower invented itself so that we could extract digitalis for sick hearts.

The top few inches of our land just happen to have topsoil, without which we would have no vegetables to eat, no grass for the animals whose meat is our food. No one put oil just deep enough in the earth to keep until we need it. The wind which carried the delicate seedling to a fertile place was devised by us. The inexhaustible envelope of air - only 50 miles deep, and of exactly the right density to support human life - is just another law of physics.

But Who Invented

physics? Who made the bank deposits of coal and zinc and iron and uranium inside the earth? Nobody. It was all just another priceless accident.

Water expands when it freezes, while other substances contract. This makes ice lighter than water and keeps it floating on the surface. Otherwise lakes would be solid ice down to the bottom all year, and no fish could survive. Who put theme there?

How about the sugar thermostat below the human pancreas? It maintains a level of sugar in the human blood sufficient for energy, but without it all of us would fall into a coma and die. No one created it. The sun stokes a fire just warm enough to sustain us on earth, but not hot enough to fry us or cold enough to kill us. Who keeps the fire constant? The special healing rays emitted by the sun - who knows?

What makes a light bulb light? Electricity? What is it? Who showed it how to travel at lightning speed, making right angle turns and twists on piece of wire without flying off? By the way, what is light? Who invented eyes to see light?

A young bird will migrate from Canada to Argentina - who showed it what course, what speed, and why it must do this? Swallows return on a given day. What calendar do they use? Man has a conscience. No animal has. Who engineered this?

Where did the seeds come from for the first tree so that we would have shelter? Did somebody devise fire to keep us warm? For countless centuries in countless places the forests and the vegetation perpetuate themselves without man's help. Why did they not die of blight and flame and neglect?

Clouds bring rain and shade. Who taught them how to vaporize and to pick up fresh water and carry it to places which need it? Is snow just a winter decoration? Or does it sit on mountaintops waiting for the warm spring sum to melt it into rains needed for the streams and farms below? A very lovely accident. And why does it melt at just the right time for the young crops to drink?

A salmon will swim upstream to have its babies and die, and it will jump up fish ladders to do it? Why do eels swim all the way from European rivers to Bermuda to breed? And how do the little eels find their way back to Europe all by themselves? Who teaches a house dog to tear up strips of paper in a fluffy pile for puppies about to be born?

The Human Heart

will beat for 70 or 80 years without faltering. How does it get sufficient rest between beats? A kidney will filter poison from the blood and leave good things alone. How does it know one from the other? Who gave the human tongue flexibility to form words, and a brain to understand them, but denied it to all the animals?

Illnesses have specific symptoms. Why this warning why not many illnesses with identical symptoms? Or no symptoms? Who showed a womb how to take the love of two persons, and keep splitting a tiny ovum until, in time, a baby will have the proper number of fingers, eyes, and hair in the right places, and come into the world when it is strong enough to sustain life? Who?

It's all accidental? There is no God? That's what some people say.

Yet, with all of this abundant evidence of God, man cannot know God until by faith he comes to know God's Son, the Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to earth to show us what God is like. Because Jesus is God, His life was the life of God lived about among men. God is love. We this because Jesus Christ loved us - so much that He died for our sins upon the cross, Because He is God, He arose from the grave. To those who believe in Him, He gives peace, forgiveness, and life - real life eternal life.

Men will say there is no God. Still others will worship an unknown god based only on the evidence of perfection in nature. Christians know there is a God because they believe in Jesus Christ, God's Son, the savior. They know He is the revelation of God in human form. In Jesus Christ we know there is a God.

For one moment I was getting the battle armour out to do battle. Good way to portray to the Atheists that there is God.

Thank you

I'm an atheist and this doesn't seem to me to be any kind of evidence of the existence of god at all. Its just plain and simple evolution and how things evolute over time to become so complicated that we would require more than human intelligence to understand. If you were to gather up all the religions in the world, then who's to say which one of them is correct? It has already been scientifically proven that half the written scriptures of the bible were not history at all and were formed to fit in with the rest of the book like a jigsaw puzzle. I used to be faithful christian myself until I woke up and realized that we're all living in a world of hopeless self-delusion, which is a completely natural part of human nature.

sorry to post again, I forgot to mention that nature isn't perfection because it's naturally self destructive. Many wars have gone on and many people died because of religion, including christianity. I do, however, have the utmost respect for your beliefs and I wouldn't dare try to change them, but I think my opinion on this subject is quite necessary if you are going to take your beliefs seriously.

Great article. It is easy to dismiss things as random events or coincidences but when the coincidences pile up and all point to the same source it is difficult to dismiss them as random events. Instead, we have a pattern of evidence. Thanks for the great, and though provoking, Hub.

Wonderful hub..we need more hubs like this to make us think..I would like to hear what an athiest says as a truck starts to run over him/her...or when they think they are drowning..Maybe they say "Oh Darwin"..Myself it would be OH GOD! and what or who created our heart and what exactly starts it in the first place. No one seems to have the answer. Sort of like why does a cat purr nd what causes this sound?? I feel the  All Mighty had a real important hand in all this.

Thank you for the many reminders that there is a source much more powerful than we are running the show. Just as we have a Father as an active creative force in a family unit we have a "Father" as an active creative force in the human family unit. You have reminded us of that active force.

GOD

HE is the Father,

HE is the Mother,

HE is the Creator,

HE is the Destroyer.

HE is the one who created this earth.

You, He, and We were given this birth!

The Earth was a benighted place,

He culled Divnities to ratify the pace.

Then came a light when RAM was born,

Then that gloomy night was torn.

Nanak spread the same message,

That led everyone to the safe passage.

Muhammad and Buddha did the same,

This earned them a lot of fame.

Then was the turn of Jesus Christ,

Did his best and payed the price.

All of them were great messengers,

For us all mortal, stupid passengers.

The earth was grateful, thankful to them all,

After their departure, the earth had a fall.

Again that benighted night has come,

And he must send at least SOMEONE.

This man needs help to trod,

That will be possible, if helped by GOD!

Great piece. Love it.

When I got married, many in the new family were athiests. I quickly discovered that arguing over whether there is or isn't a God is futile. They have to see it in our lives and realize it themselves. It is a truth that you find only when you want to find it and are willing to listen.
