Picante ("Cocina Mexicana") is not truly a taqueria, they serve brunch for example, and they have other things on the menu. But they do serve tacos and I've been there a few times, so here is some information in case you find yourself there.
Location: Fifth St. and Gilman in Berkeley, California.
Date of last meal: July 8, 2006
Picante is a figment of Berkeley, part Mexican restaurant, part multi-cultural experience with a side order of "authenticity".

I usually order the carnitas tacos with refiried beans at picante because they are usually very tasty. Last week I ordered the usual and they were a bit bland. not sure why.
