Tag Heuer Link collection confidently fills the dressy sports niche for this brand – and for many other brands as well, as some would claim. Tiger Woods' persona plays a significant role in positioning Link as the luxury market's standard sports collection. Many professionals consider Woods the most successful golfer to ever lift a club, but for most of us it's his classy character, especially his razor-sharp focused gaze that makes him special – and the alliance between him and Tag Heuer Link so appropriate, and eventually profitable.

Tag Heuer Link stylizes such prominent sports features as the crown, the push buttons, and the bezel, rendering them more refined and dress oriented. In fact, only the chronograph models exhibit notable sports characteristics; the rest can be categorized as dressy watches with a competitive spirit – mostly because of the stress on sleek lines and the polished stainless steel. The various indices and lines were notably attenuated, as if to anticipate the elegance of a tie and a jacket dress code.

Tag Heuer Link watches can be immediately recognized by the unique trademark bracelet, which consists of links made of two joined “S” letters. Though this dramatic design may appear too brash to the unaccustomed eye, it conveys such power and character as to transcend any reservations about its untraditional look. I don't have any personal preference – but I think that if you're buying a Tag Heuer sports watch, it might as well be as packed as it can be, especially considering how non-intrusive the subdials and the hands look.

Link watches come with Automatic, Quartz, and recently an Electro-Mechanical movement. Mechanical purists might not like it, but Tag Heuer definitely mix it up when in comes to calibers. Why not? There are very few reasons to insist on making strictly mechanical watches, and the brand may be doing the industry a big service by ignoring them.

Tag Heuer Link Ladies is a jewellery collection that keeps the collection's trademark bracelet, and adds on mother-of-pearl and diamonds (over fifty in some versions) on the dials and bezels. The “S” link bracelet puts on some enigmatic qualities in the feminine watches, especially the two-tone models. The enigma may not be to everyone's liking, but it definitely agrees with Maria Sharapova.
