The Islands of Tahiti - Bora Bora and Moorea.

The largest island in the French Polynesia, looking over the ocean is circled by majestic peaks.

The mountainous interior has deep valleys, lush tropical landscapes, clear streams, high waterfalls, lagoons surrounded by soaring volcanic peaks. The coastal lands are home to tropical flowers and most of the island's population at 230,000 people.

One of the world’s best snorkeling destinations, scuba diving and surfing are also found in Tahiti. Other activities are canoeing, horseback riding, four-wheel jeep safaris, deep sea fishing, sailing, jet skiing, wind surfing, ray feeding and helicopter rides.

There are two seasons, November through April the climate is warmer and more humid. Daily high temperatures of 85F and a low of 70F at night. May through October the climate is cooler and drier with daily high temperatures of 82F and a low of 70F at night.

In the local Tahitian language there is no 'B' sound so its actual name is Pora Pora.

Bora Bora is located about 160 miles northwest of Tahiti and approximately 2,600 miles south of Hawaii.

It was discovered in 1722 and is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

Bora Bora's rugged main island is completely surrounded by coral reefs.

Its population is 4,650 people.

Moorea is 10 miles northwest of Tahiti.

Moorea's is the home of spectacular bays and volcanic peaks.

Mountain slopes are covered with pineapple plantation, white sand beaches and crystalline lagoons. Moorea is even better when visited by air.

The population of Moorea is only 14,000 people.
