Talambuhay ni Graciano Lopez Jaena

Graciano Lopez Jaena was born in Jaro, Iloilo City on December 16, 1858. His parents were Placido Lopez and Maria Jacoba Jaena. He finished his Philosophy at the Jaro Seminary under Paulite Priests. He wrote the article "Fray Botod" to critized the wrongdoings of the Spanish priest.

This article makes the priests get angry at him. He then escape to Spain on 1879, and at the same time he enrolled at the University of Valencia also in Spain to take up medicine. After one year he stopped from the university and joined politics. He is known as a good orator. In 1889 he became an editor of the "La Solidaridad", the newsletter which reveals the atrocities of the Spanish government in the Philippines.. On January 20, 1896, Jaena died of Tuberculosis in Barcelona.

Si Graciano Lopez Jaena ay isinilang sa Jaro, Iloilo City noong Disyembre 17, 1856. Ang kanyang mga magulang ay sina Placido Lopez at Maria Jacoba Jaena. Siya ay nagtapos ng Pilosopiya sa seminaryo ng Jaro sa ilalim ng mga paring Paulista.

Sinulat niya ang "Fray Botod" upang tuligsain ang mga kasamaan ng mga pari na siyang ikinagalit ng mga ito. Tumakas siya patungon Espanya noong 1879 at pumasok sa Unibersidad ng Valencia at kumuha ng medisina. Ngunit tumigil pagkalipas ng isang taon at masigasig na nakibahagi sa pulitika. Kilala siya bilang mahusay na hurdor. Noong 1889 siya ay naging patnugot ng "La Solidaridad" subalit namatay sa sakit na tuberkulosis noong Enero 20, 1896 sa Barcelona.
