Tales From Tails
Life is so much more than owning things. Why, I owned very little throughout most of my life and what little I had almost got taken away from me. Just look up my life’s story.
Now that you’ve read my story, don’t you feel better? So, you see, life is more than what you have, it’s full of stories! You know me better because you’ve read my story, not just because you looked at my picture.
My many friends at the Biscuit Fund all have stories. You can read them here. What I get really excited about is how the stories end. Why, my friend, Everest, has a story that ends on a good note. Everest, an American Eskimo, had his teeth cleaned because enough friends like you wanted to make sure he got the help. Now he has a great smile!
Abby, the Tabby cat, has a similar story. She, too, had her teeth cleaned. You should see the two of them, Everest and Tabby, trying to outdo each other with their blazing smiles. Why, I have to tell them to tone it down so I can get to sleep at night!
Hey! Check out that Hamish! He’s got so much help that he’s now helping others! I think it’s because a whole bunch of people felt really sorry for him. Just look at him! Doesn’t he make you just want to cry? I think he got the name, Hamish, because when he was young, he learned to play on everyone’s heartstrings (like a ham!) Don’t you think so?
We have many more friends who can’t get their lives back together yet because of illness or injury. They need your help, too. We at the Biscuit Fund don’t generally reject animals. (There’s no such thing as a “Misfit Biscuit!”) For example, Charlie Chaplin is about 80% of the way toward having his needs met. (He has that name for a reason, you know! Just check out his picture and read his story!) Charlie can’t wait to get his leg fixed.
You know, the folks who put our pictures on that webby thingy are pretty smart. (I have no idea how they put our pictures on that thing, although I do remember being scared to death once by a flash of lightning that came out of a little box one of our helpers was holding. If it weren’t for the trust I had in him, I would have been traumatized!) The webby thingy tells you how far each of us has progressed toward getting all fixed up. That way, folks like you can take a quick look and decide how you can help and write, “The Rest of the Story.” (Sounds catchy, doesn’t it? Maybe someone can use that phrase sometime and make it popular, like on a radio program!) Why, some have even signed up to help us every month! What a great idea!
So, stories are being told on the webby thingy and from person to person. People are hearing about us and are taking part in helping us to recover from things that life has thrown at us. When they do help us, they get a copy of our life story, which even they are helping to write. Even some very famous people are helping to write our stories. (I understand that some of them have their own stories to tell, so they come to the Biscuit Fund with a whole world of understanding on their shoulders.)
Thanks for listening and know for certain that if you sign up with the Biscuit Fund, you’ll get the whole story! (Stories are so much better! Many of our stories have also been featured in the media!)
