What are Tanning Stickers

What are tanning stickers?
Tanning stickers are skin-friendly adhesive patches that serve the dual purpose of cosmetic use and a tanning meter. Such stickers are fit to be used for natural suntan, indoor tanning in controlled environment, and even UV free tanning through sprays or lotions.

How are they used?
Tanning stickers are available in all shapes and sizes. They work on the principal of stencils, leaving their mark wherever they are used. These stickers are stuck to the skin on the desired body part, immediately before a tanning session. Since, the patch under the sticker is not exposed to the tanning agent, including sunlight, there is no pigmentation in this area. On removing the sticker, this patch with low pigmentation, gets a tattoo-like appearance, also known as ‘tan lines.’ These stickers have to be used repeatedly at the same spot every time you tan your body. As the skin tan grows, the tattoo appears more prominent.

What are their uses?
Tanning stickers can be both, a luxury and a utility. These stickers are a painless way to get attractive tattoos, often referred to as ‘reverse-tattoos,’ on your body without any extra effort. There is really no limit for creativity and you can achieve any type of design you want, anywhere you want. You can don a small designer tattoo with a gentle look or flaunt a daring and prominent structure at a sexy spot on your body. Tan tattoos are temporary, which is an additional benefit. You can alter their design, change their placement, or remove them completely. All you have to do is stop using the stickers during the tanning, and within a few sessions, you can get an even tone on your skin.

Another important use of tanning stickers is as a tanning meter. A desired level of skin tanning does not take effect in first sitting itself, instead it happens progressively over a couple of sessions. Using a sticker can help you determine your progress. However, there is a caveat. Sometimes, due to the constant absence of light, a patch, where a sticker is regularly used, becomes lighter than the normal skin tone, which may affect the judgment of the level of tanning achieved. Excess tanning can lead to sunburn, or even permanent damage to skin, due to UV rays (even in case of tanning beds). Therefore, tanning stickers come handy in assessing the level of exposure given to the skin.

How are they available?
Tan stickers are available in the packaging of 500 to 1,000 pieces and are quiet low priced, $2 onwards. Among the popular designs are playboy bunny rabbit, heart, thunderbolt, smiley, and so on.
