Tanning Salon and Tanning Pills

Dermatologist are warning about tanning salons. The ultraviolet rays of an indoor sun lamp are actually more intense than the sun's own rays. There is already an overexposure to ultraviolet rays from the indoor sun lamp in a matter of minutes rather than hours (under the sun) and that overexposure can cause; rough, wrinkled skin possibly a heightened risk of skin cancer.
Your eyes are at greater risk in a tanning salon. If you go to one, you need to wear goggles that protect against ultraviolet rays, not just sunglasses, and avoid ever looking directly into the lamps.
Tanning Pills contain a pigment that accumulates below the surface of the skin (as well as throughout the whole body). Taking pills for a certain number of days causes enough pigmentation to build up to produce a noticeable color, an orange color that doesn't look natural. To maintain the effect, you must keep taking a minimum dosage of pills. Some people get dry, itchy skin from taking tanning pills; other may experience side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, cramps.Tanning pills when taken in large amounts may cause liver damage and eye problems.
If you really want to look tanned the safest method is to use an artificial tanning lotion that has good ingredients, I personally use Forever Aloe Tanning Lotion during summer time since I don't like staying out to get my skin tanned, this product is really good, I can see the difference after the 2nd application. Tanning lotions produce a fairly realistic color, and are a safe alternative to excessive sun exposure. Remember again that they do not protect against sunburn, you must apply a protective sunscreen lotion. I use Forever Living Product SPF Sunscreen
Sunshade cream - this is an opaque cream that provides the strongest protection. It contain zinc oxides or titanium oxides that can block almost all ultraviolet rays. Sunshades are best for sensitive areas like nose, lips and the entire face.
Sunscreen and sunblock - contain ingredients that partially block ultraviolet rays, allowing you to stay in the sun longer without burning. These lotions and creams are graded by sun protection factors (SPF) of up to 20 or more according to how much protection they supply. The "factor" represents the number of times by which the screen reduces the effect of the sun's rays on your skin. So a factor six product reduces exposure to one-sixth and means you can stay in the sun six times as long for the same amount of ultraviolet radiation. Sunscreen needs to be reapplied regularly every two hours and after swimming. Apply 30 minutes before going out and reapply every 2 hours.
