These days where crime rates are rising and the news is filled with bloodshed and crime, personal safety is a primary concern. You have to be aware of the danger that you can face each day and the methods of protection that you can use.

Having a self defense tool is often the answer of people when asked how they remain safe. In times of danger you have to be sure that you have an item that is effective. A taser gun is one effective self defense weapon that you can use in order to protect yourself from harm.

Taser guns require minimal skill and strength in order to be used. They are a perfect option for people of any age and ability. They do not require you to be in close proximity to your attacker so you can actually stop any attacks from a distance.

Taser guns are different from stun guns since stun guns require the victims to be close to the assailant. As for the taser guns you can actually attack someone who is twenty five feet away from you. The taser gun will shoot small electrodes at the attacker which will connect your attacker to the gun.

Once the electrodes are in contact with the attacker, every pull of the trigger will deliver a 50,000 volt charge for five seconds. The effect of one trigger is enough to keep an adult male in the ground while you can run towards a safer area and get help.

The taser gun causes uncontrollable muscle contractions which allow the gun to physically incapacitate a target regardless of his pain resistance or mental focus. Instead of interfering with the brain, the taser gun will work directly on the muscles making the muscles of the attacker contract until he is down on the ground. The target will be feeling dazed and would experience a sense of vertigo. This can stun the target or make him unconscious for a few minutes. The taser gun effects do not have any long term or permanent damage. This is because the taser has low electrical amperage and the pulsating electric current will only last for a short while.

This protection weapon is not lethal and will not kill or maim your attacker. These guns are often used by police officers in order to have a safer alternative to using physical force. In fact, they are now preferably used by most law enforcement officers.
