Removing a tattoo is possible. However, there are several different variables for the Dr. to consider before he/she starts treatment. The type of ink used, how deep the ink was injected, and the location are all factors to how many treatments it will require to have it removed. Also, the type of tattoo gun that was used can make a difference. Professionally applied tattoos require 8 - 15 treatments spaced out every 5 weeks. Amateur or "street tattoos" can sometimes be removed in fewer treatments. Each tattoo pigment(such as black, blue, red, and green) absorb a specific wavelength of light. Dark ink usually responds quicker than bright ink because they absorb light better.

 Dermabration removal is a very painfull way to remove a tattoo. You are basicly sanding off the tattoo. There are a few ways this can be done. You can bite a bullet and start sanding or you can use a special chemical to num or freeze the area and then start sanding. Again this method is very painfull and will scar and damage the skin. In my opion this would not be a very effective way to remove a tattoo. However, if the funds for laser removal are not an option this would be another.

 This particular tattoo is small and light in color. This may be the doctors favorite type of tattoo to remove. With just 5 or 6 treatments this type of tattoo can be completely removed.

 If you look hard enough on the Internet you can find anything. Today I found The Magic Wand. It's more of an iron that is used to remove tattoos. Seems very painful to me. However the tattoo in the picture appears to be going away. If you don't mind sever pain, you could give it a try.
