Tax The Rich

How many ways can you tax the wealthiest 1% of Americans? So far about twenty-five ways to Sunday as my granny used to say. These folks are paying for everything that the Democrats can dream up. If I were in that 1%, I would be headed for Mexico.

The latest proposal - 640 Billion for Universal health care.

The maor of New York, Mr. Bloomberg, said the rich in New York, some 40,000 people, pay over half of the taxes. We are talking about a city of over 7 million. How much more tax can these people pay before they fly the coop?

In the new stimulus bill - the 870 billion - there is a provision to limit the health care for the elderly. That is if you are of a certain age and need an operation, you will not be apporved under medicare. This is scary.

This week in my county a business employing 300 closed. The owner said he wasn't that he can't compete with the overseas market but rather with the prison system. His company, over 50 years, makes shirts for the US Navy. He lost his contract to the Federal Prison system which will now make the shirts and pay the inmates less than minimum wage. The small business owner will sale his factory and land and be in that 1% tax bracket. Is that fair?

Education, health care, alternative fuels, carbon credits, prisons, abortions and everything not mentioned is being billed to that 1%. Yikes!

Have you ever known of a business that did not pass increased taxes along to customers? When the "high" taxes on the top 1% hit those folks who own businesses, sit on the boards of directors, are major stock-holders will pass those higher taxes down the line to those who buy their products. In essence, we the consumers, will pick up the tab of those increased taxes. Universal health care will be paid for with an increase in the price of eggs, bread and milk.

Socialism is expensive for everyone.

I believe we do need reformed health care and everyone should be entitled to it, as a nurse we have seen so many who do not have healthcare at all including senior citizens and their bills are horrible, however I do not agree that it should hang on the coat tails of medicare as the elderly have needs as well.

The small business owner should not lose out to the federal prison system as to me if you do the crime, you do the time and they have just taken away 300 more employees jobs thus putting them in the unemployment line which is not fair.

Somebody has to unfortunately pay and the middle class are already squeezed and the poor could never make up the money to cover it, the super wealthy should contribute as they recieve major tax breaks as it is, and while the world is struggling they are cruising around in their lear jets and at least 2% of them have made their money off of corporate greed, so I do not pity the wealthy and since I came from a family who is well to do, it is only right that they as well do their part as that money certainly did not grow on trees and came from hard work and perserverance if they can't help then who can as this country is a complete mess. :)

My wife, wiser than I, pointed out that every time those who own businesses get taxed they raise the prices of the stuff their companies make. so, even if the rich dude is on the board of directors, he will propose the company protect their profit margin. The tax gets passed on to the consumer.
