I bought the Taylor made Nubbins after trying out a couple of odysees and pings and topflight and teardrops, the list goes on. I read no review about it before I bought it. I bought it purely on fell. You know how some putters feel toe heavy and some feel heel heavy and some just look weird. This one felt and looked great over the ball. I played my first round with it this past sunday. I shot 82, thats an 82 with al new clubs, irons, wedges, woods, putter etc. So I thought that is great, I lost 4 or 5 strokes on some bad swings but over all I played well, One chip in. I made 8 one putts, 9 two putts and one 3 putt(first green). The first green I had a 20 footer and I knocked it 10 feet past and missed the comebacker. The Ball does seem to com off the face alittle hot, I think that is due to the weight of the putter. Once I figured out the weight I loved it. Drained a 25 footer for par and a bunch of 10-15 footers, lipped out 3. Easy to line up and once you get used to the speed the ball comes off the face then it is awesome. But putters are all about feel. Look for a putter that feels balanced before you hit a putt with it. If the nubbins suits you then snatch it up you will not be disapointed.

Taylor Made Nubbins Review

I had been planning to buy a White Hot putter from Odyssey and happened to stumble across a golf shop where the owner was retiring and selling off his merchandise at half price.

In the shop, I practiced with several clubs and couldn't seem to miss with the Nubbins. I thought that the surface could help that "pop" you occasionally get when you hit a putter with a metal face "sweet."

After about 7-8 rounds, I find the Nubbins to have good feel and I consistently make shorter putts. It doesn't have the "pop" that gave me trouble with my old putter. It has good alignment aids. I do have difficulty with long putts, and the problem is with consistent distance.

I'm no expert, but I think the problem is related to the lack of audible feedback. This doesn't mean as much on short putts, but over time, helps to associate a given backswing with a certain sound. For this reason, I'm hanging up the Nubbins. I am trying a Carbite ZH, and it's too early to rate that experiment.
