TeaZone, Portland: Bar Review
51& Camellia Lounge
It’s quintessential Portland. Rust faux finished walls welcome patrons into a quaint space that seats 30 tops. The pitch of the pipes of a Bjork sounding doppelganger in thrift store garb penetrate the pores of the place tonight. Queer friendly folk sip beautifully brewed tea. A miniature hourglass full of sand foretells the future of the tea’s drinking readiness. If steeping’s not your style try something stiffer. Camellia Lounge has a full bar and curious concoctions that include ingredients like blackcurrant tea infused vodka and RC Cola. It’s jammed with 20-something hipster-clove-smoking nerds. Bottom line: a neat novelty that might make you feel young, hip and naughtily nerdy.
