What dose "TEACUP" puppy means?

Anyone who is looking these days to buy or adopt a little toy breed dog will notice many place use the term Teacup. Teacup Yorkie, Teacup Maltese, Teacup Pomeranian and more.

So what are really the differences between a regular Yorkshire terrier puppy and a Teacup one?
The answer is there is no difference as far as the breed. Both basically belong to the Yorkshire terrier breed (to read more detailed information about the breed you can visit http://www.staryorkie.com/yt.html )

What is different then? It is just the size.
A standard Yorkshire terrier dog can weigh up to 8-9 lbs. When breeders say they have teacup Yorkies for sale what they mean is that their puppies will weigh about 2-5 lbs when full grown.
That is all - a Teacup Yorkie Puppy or a Teacup Maltese puppy is just smaller.

What are the advantages of having such a small dog?
Well, one thing is if you travel allot and want to be able to take your baby teacup with you everywhere you go it is very easy thing to do when your dog weighs only 3-4 lbs.
Such small dogs also don’t need big spaces for exercise and will do just fine in a small apartment.
If you have small children that a bit scared from bigger dogs it is wise to start with a small one first.
Keeping your puppy clean and neat is very easy to, especially breeds like the Yorkshire terrier or Maltese which are non-shedding breeds. Even people who are allergic to dogs will do very well with these two hypoallergenic breeds.
These days they make so many different clothing and accessories for the little ones which makes it so much fun to dress them up and spoil them with cool stuff.

The term Teacup came from the fact that when these tiny puppies are born they actually fit in a small tea cup.

Since the small ones became so popular lately, many people try to take advantage of the trend and advertise their puppies to be Teacups in order to charge more money or even breed unhealthy dogs in order to produce small puppies.

If you are looking to add a tiny teacup puppy to your family make sure you do your homework and get one from a good reputable place that offer a health guarantee and a free vet check up.
