Clifinar and Team motivation

A Clifinar is basically a made up word in our company that combines the words Clifton and seminar - Clifinar. Clifton is a senior SEO expert in our company and as an expert he helps us improve by giving a one hour long seminar each week on different SEO issues.

Ok. so now you know what a Clifinar is. But how does it help your team's motivation and improve it's trade skills?

Well, the secret is that it doesn't - unless you happen to be in the SEO business and then it does (after all Clif is an SEO expert). However, the use we put the Clifinar to can and should improve both work skills and motivation.

What we did at our company is to declare a Clifinar competition. The goal was to take a phrase that did not appear anywhere in Google and see who can bring it to the top of the results pages in a month.

Apart from the boost to the ego and a recognition of one's skills there is also a prise worth fighting for and after only one day there were already 5 results pages for the term "clifinar" in Google .

there are, of course, rules to the competition and the workers can discuss the progress with each other.

I can tell you this is certainly a breath of fresh air and it not only helps the workers use their skills better it also helps theme think of new ideas to improve and expand them.

Now all you have to do if you too wish to have a Clifinar competition is to think of a relevant theme for your team, go for it and enjoy.

The Clifinar blog has reached the 3rd position in Google so far.
