I met a friend not to long ago, from California; that moved to Arizona because wanted her children safe form the gang violence in California. I can understand her plight because I had the same problem about my children and the gang issues. She's a very nice young lady, that reminds me of my self. Although, since she's been here, has been going through financial woes, because she hadn't found a job yet. She also has problems with her knees and diabetes, so she limited to standing for long periods of time, so the job would have you be one; where she can sit down every now and then.
She's suffering from deep depression and she was amazed, when I told her that I suffered from the depression also. she told me about that she entertains the idea of running away from everything, even the kids; I had the same thoughts years ago and you know it's bad if you want to leave your kids behind. I hadn't heard from her in days and decided to call her and I found her in a depressed state, after talking to her , she told me her 15 year old son; the youngest child of the family had gotten into some pretty bad trouble with the law.
I asked ,what trouble? and she informed me that he was instructed to call 911 and pretend that there's a bond at the school and they wanted $10,000, for the bombs where about. I couldn't believe my ears, How could a child at 15 years old do something that was so silly, but yet so dangerous at the same time. I felt really bad for her because she really didn't need the aggravation; of knowing her kid went ad did something that might mess his young life up. I know she 's a good mother and like always be a single parent we tied to do it all for our children, but what it boils down too is, we simply cannot do it all , we need help from the fathers to do their part.
Her son apparently didn't know what he was getting himself into, by doing this action or the consequences of his actions; bu participating in this hoax or crank that they pull. I'm sure that he didn't know that this was Federal offense or that he might in up in a juvenile detention center. More importantly she talked to all her children about her depression and everything that was happening to her by my request, so they could try to help her with some of her stress; I guess he neglected to listen. The fact that he had the audacity to do such a thing with his mother going through her depression was very selfish and childish of him.
His actions compounded and overwhelmed his mother, she was nervous wreck and in tears; I talked to her , told her about all the hell I went through back in Louisiana, but I never gave on the greatness and actions of God. To let her know God got me through so many things; and they she had to sat connected with God , regardless of how ferocious the storm, and how dark the clouds, that she had to stand on the word of God and never Falter. No matter how bleak the situations may look, I told her that God was greater than anything she going through right now and I even made her laugh out loud a few times... after she stopped crying.
I told her we have to to continue to pray, and do what we can but too always expect great things form God ; especially after we have done all that we can do, that's when we let go and let God. I did tell her that her son might have to suffer the consequences of his actions, because of his disobedience. when we as single mother's, we go through so many things with our children, even though we try teach right ;from wrong. There's always one in the bunch that will buck the system, I know because I have one of my own. They don't be aware of the harm or heart break they cause because they want to do what they want to do.
I told my friend to stay encouraged, because the word of said even this shall pass, but we must believe with all our heart and soul that it will happen. The bible also states"For his anger endureth for a moment; in his favor is life, weeping may endure for a night but Joy cometh in the morning, After talking with my friend for a while she was uplifted and encouraged. I asked her to forgive me for preaching to her and she sai d;you did sound like a preacher, and I told her that I did have a inspired ministers licence registered in California but I don't preach....I just try to give words of encouragement to whom ever needs it.
wrote this article in hope that it will help a parent teach their children about silly and deadly games with the Police department. It's a very bad idea to play pranks or games, with law enforcement. Tell your children the facts about the law and how the law works, when anyone do a bomb threat, and demanding money from authorities, even if it's sad hoax; let them know it will be treated as a real threat and the FBI, will become involved. The penalty can be great, even for a child. her son is still free upon pending investigation of this incident. It's very important to teach your children that playing games or pranks with the police department can get you to spend time in the juvenile home. make sure you let them know the consequences of their actions so they don't do something that might come back to haunt them

This is such vital information creativeone59. I think as parents we have so much on our plants, that we tend to forget about small (yet very damaging) things like this. Thank you for the reminder.
Veronica, you are always welcome, and thank you for always giving me comments and feedback. but what you said is true, we do forget sometimes. Godspeed. creativeone59
Yes, those little darlings. They know how to add. However, this was a lovely hub and thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the reminder creativeone59. Children do things without much thought sometimes. We as parents do need to take the time to talk to them about many things we neglect to mention.
Thank you creativeone for sharing this important info.

My son a number of years ago went through a compulsive disorder period where he had the urge to dial 911 all the time. And he did on a few occasions. Once you dial you can't stop them coming and when they arrived he was shaking in his boots. He's grown out of it now but I think it taught him not to mess around with the police.
I do hope your friend is mending. God bless her.
good advice to your friend and good advice to your readers. Some kids are just too immature to realize how serious alot of these pranks can be.
Thank you Bail, for your comment and feedback. I appreciate you. creativeone59

It is indeed unfortunate that your friend is experiencing additional stress imposed by the jejune behavior of her son. It is good that you are providing her with support. I wonder if she is seeing a clinical pastoral counselor or social worker who may be able to help her with her depression. It may also benefit her to join a support group for the clinically depressed. I will certainly include her and her family in my prayers.
