My meditation...
I always start my meditation session out sitting on the floor, legs crossed indian-style, with my eyes closed, no noise in the background, phone shut off, and deep breathing... I start by relaxing my toes first, then my legs, moving up one body part at a time until I get to the top of my head.
I, then start out by imagining that I am in a white "room", with no walls, no windows, nothing but white... I concentrate on what I'm looking to get out of the session... (I will tell you about my "past life regression" experience...)
I concentrate on finding out who I was before this life... I see a door- I walk to it, open it, and see a set of stairs which go up, and down. Down, being the direction to go to enter my past, up brings you to the future. I go down.
As I proceed down the stairs, I feel myself getting lighter, and I almost float down the stairs, rather than step. The further down I go, the more relaxed I am, and the lighterI feel, until I am floating down the stairs!
I reach the bottom, and weightlessly, my feet touch the floor. Ahead of me, there is a long hallway with hundreds of doors, each with a sign which reads a person's name and date. I touch the names with my fingers like I am reading braille. Because the text is blurry, I cannot read it, so therefore, that means it's not my door, and I move to the next door, and the next, until I get to my own.
I stand there for a moment, gathering courage to open the door. I finally take a deep breath, and in I go... I walk in, and it's kind of dark, but I can see a light in the distance, so I walk towards it.
I get closer and closer until I can make out a large wall painting leaning against a high-backed, old, wooden chair. I am still too far away to make it out, so I move forward, closer to it. It is a portrait of a woman. She is very "diplomatic" looking. That is my first impression. She has my eyes- same shape, same bluish-green color... She is, actually a very beautiful woman. Even with no make-up!
Her chin is held high, which tells me that she was a woman of strength, and her smile was almost absent, and that told me she was stern. Her hands were neatly placed on her lap, left hand covered the right hand, and she wore no ring, so I assume she was not married. Her hands, also, looked strong, which tells me she was not dainty, or fragile, but "in charge" of something.Â
Her eyes were not fixed on the artist who painted her, nor was she "comfortable" looking. She looked stiff, and out of place, like she was impatient. I felt respect for her, almost envied her...
I wanted to know more, so I continued around, rummaging through piles of dusty "this-and-thats" until I came across a picture of a person who was similar looking to my father. He was her father, I could feel it.
I came across old furniture, which looked familiar to me, but I do not own today. I found a small trinket box and inside it, were seven quartz crystals, and a piece of yellowed paper which had three words on it... " Love", "Body", and "Mind"... What this meant, I'm still trying to figure out. It could mean a whole slew of things!
I, also found things in this place that reminded me of my great-grandmother. I found a shelf which was covered with elephants! Elephant nick-nacks, elephant jewlery, elephant sketches... I found a tea cup with tea leaves in the bottom of it. I found things that she would have owned, so I am guessing she was a part of my past, too...
Returning to the door was hard to do... closing it behind me was even harder! But I discovered that even trying out the whole "past life regression" thing didn't satisfy me... It just made me want to know more! Needless to say, I haven't had another meditation session like that- Not that graphic, and detailed anyway. I'm wondering if it's like a drug addiction... Your always trying to get back that first high, but it never happens...?Â
I have had several "successful" meditation sessions, but they always end up the same way... leaving me with unfinished business!Â
When you are meditating, you set your own "rules", like what to say to relax yourself, what technique to use, it all depends on what you are looking to get from the meditation, itself. It is different with different people, as some people are more sensitive than others, some people naturally "block out" any images, or information, and cannot have a successful session.
                                       Practice, practice, practice!
Don't expect to have results the first few times you try, because normally, no one does! It takes time to get yourself relaxed, and if time isn't something you have to spare, then practice when you go to bed at night! Be aware, though, as when I do that, still to this day, I usually fall asleep after the relaxation part!

OMG yes! My collection of literature on the subjects keeps getting larger! I have chakra awareness guides posted on my wall, crystal awareness guides, How-to's for beginners, herbology, scrying, fith-fathing... You name it, and most likely, I have it! I am always anxiously awaiting the next publication! Thank you for your comment, and come back for more when you start to have withdrawls, ok? lol
hehe nice stuff:) I have a few books by these japanese ki masters too, they are very interesting reading, I'm still struggling with getting the feeling of warmth from the chakra , they say you focus just below your navel and from there you can build up your chi energy. Reading this has motivated me to get back to meditating :)
It is very relaxing... Especially if you have a "high-traffic" sort of life style!
Also, deep breathing, and focused concentration is key in meditation. If you are relaxed enough, you can have some great results. (Fasting is good for your spirit too!)
I enjoyed answering MamaDragonfly2677 question about meditation and how I learned and I was energized to see others enjoying the benefits of Meditation.
