Buying temporary health insurance is a smart move. Short term health insurance is an option for those who need health insurance for a few months to a year. You may need temporary health insurance in a variety of situations.. Maybe you are between jobs. Maybe your parents' health insurance plan is dropping you because you are turning 25 or 45. Your dad asks you to help him nail a bird feeder to a tree in the back yard. Unfortunately you don't have any temporary health insurance as you DRIVE a nail right through your thumb. Your dad calls 911, you go to the hospital, you have surgery to remove the nail, and you are stuck with the bill. On your allowance, it will be extremely difficult to pay that bill. You better get a paper route too.

You decide whether it's safer to drive without auto insurance or health insurance. Maybe you hadn't thought of all the different ways your body can be harmed while driving.
