Self Confidence Is Important

Confidence is the ability to accept who you are regardless of what inabilities you may have. Self confidence is one of those things that truly has the power to make or break you. With confidence there is no limit to the things you attempt. Therefore achieving much more than is possible without it. Without confidence, it is likely that you will do hardly anything significant.

Confidence comes from within. The great thing about confidence is that it can be learned. Below you will find ten tips to increase your confidence.

Confidence Tip #1 Dress For Success

Nothing makes you feel as good as looking nice. The clothes we wear has a tremendous effect on how we see ourselves. Nice clothes doesn't necessarily have to be expensive. It's alright to mix and match to find creative ways to keep your image enhanced.

Confidence Tip #2 Positive Self Talk

The things we say to ourselves are life and death. Literally. Our words to ourselves are more powerful than any words we say to others. We can talk ourselves into or out of tremendous opportunities. Saying happy, positive, uplifting things to ourselves powerfully effects our attitudes, actions and ultimately our results.

Confidence Tip #3 Make and Pursue a Goal

Goal setting. Nothing makes us feel better than pursuing an important worthwhile goal. Pursuing your goals gives us energy, focus and confidence. As we complete our objectives, we feel good because we are moving toward our goals.

Confidence Tip #4 Give Compliments

Seems simple right? Actually it really is. The interesting thing is that this simple tip will work wonders for you. Telling your coworkers how great they look, smell or behave makes you feel good. Give it a try. For the next 7 days, make a commitment to give ten compliments every day. At the end of the experiment, you'll be a believer.

Confidence Tip #5 Exercise

For some reason, exercise makes us feel incredibly good. Confidence comes as we work out, look better and improve our health.

Confidence Tip #6 Find a Mentor or Coach

Mentors and coaches see things within us that we don't see. They provide information that if used can be a shortcut to your goals. Mentors and coaches can help us achieve more, redevelop ourselves, set goals, provide accountability and much more.

Confidence Tip #7 Read Confidence Building Books

Books like The Success Principles by Jack Canfield and Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins has techniques that helped me develop more confidence within myself. There are dozens of great books that can help you increase your confidence

Confidence Tip #8 Accept Yourself

This one for many people is easier said than done. Accepting yourself is seeing you as you really are, not who or what you pretend to be. Allow yourself to accept yourself- the good, the bad and the ugly. Accepting yourself is not to say that you don't continue to improve yourself. Self improvement is a lifelong journey. However self improvement without self acceptance will be useless.

Confidence Tip #9 Help Others

Helping others can come in many different ways. Some people volunteer at their church or community center. Personally I volunteered with the American Red Cross, New Genesis Educational Center and my local church.

Confidence Tip #10 Learn a New Skill or Hobby

Learning Spanish, of fishing, or golfing, or web development, or woodworking, or a million other things can help to increase our confidence. As we go from the idea of what you'd like to learn to actually doing it, confidence comes. I wanted to learn Billiards. I went from having no knowledge or experience to now I'm a very good pool player.
