Ten Suggestions for Managing Stress
We live in a stressful world. Stress has become main part of our life. Stress at work, stress at school, stress at home, stress on the streets - stress is everywhere. The modern psychology is teaching you to stay positive, despite the nature and severity of the stressful event. All of you know the standard advises for coping with stress - talking to someone you trust, taking deep breaths, exercising, taking a walk, meditating, watching movies, listening to music. These are all good but in addition I am giving you ten suggestions for doing ten simple things when coping with stress in life.
If you are stressed out:
1. Stop thinking too much.
2. Become "childlike" when you get too serious.
3. Do something for someone else.
4. Spend more time with your loved one and your children.
5. Treat yourself to a favorite leisure activity.
6. Watch the sunrise and and the sunset more often.
7. Sit outside - notice the sounds, sights and smells of the outdoors.
8. Create something - cook, play an instrument, write a poem or an article.
9. Think of a pleasant thought, try to create a pleasant image in your mind.
10. Read a good book.
