Getting Started
Tip #1
Just do something - gather the topics you might want to podcast about
Tip#2
Decide on the length of your podcast and its frequence - my preferred choice is up to 7 minutes and weekly or fortnightly.
Tip#3
Use a decent microphone.
It is possible to use a microphone that costs only a few dollars but the sound quality may be poor.Invest in a decent quality microphone and your podcast will stand out above the others.
Tip#4
Practice,practice,practice.
You can get a good feel for pacing and the best tone of voice to use by doing three or four practice runs before you actually publish your podcast. This is the way you xcan get immediate feedback and develop your own style. You will also improve the clarity of your voice and your diction with practice.
Tip#5
Be Yourself
It is ok to have an accent, just be careful that your grammar is correct when uyou are doing a podcast that you will publish.People will notice.
Tip#7
Interview a guest
This way you can get a more dynamic feel to your podcast and allow your guest to answer questions.
Tip#8
Keep practicing. Test out a format with a guest or with an additional host before you publish. Not everyone will complement your presentation style.
Tip#9
Improve your equipment as you go along. If your budget is tight just usewhat is available and upgrade as you begin to get an income.
Tip#10
Promote affiliate products or make recommendations within the body of your podcast. In this way you will begin to pay for additional equipment and training.
You can get additional podcasting training from industry experts Alex Mandossian and Paul Colligan at http://www.podcastbusinessmodel.com (use code at the site for a $79 discount)
