Did you know that they are considering changing the title "Massage Therapist" to "Relaxation Specialist"?
So, being a Certified Massage Therapist myself, I have to teach people how to relax in homeopathic ways...and in a world where Xanax pills are the answer to everything...that's really a challenge.
But, this is the truth: a massage is NOT the best way to relax. (Although of course it helps.) Really, finding peace is all about your MINDSET. So I created this Top 10 List from my personal experience.
CYNTHIA'S TOP 10 WAYS TO JUST CHILL OUT
1.) Stop spending time worrying and spend more time settling realistic goals. Sometimes when life takes a poo on you, you feel overwhelmed. So set small goals to achieve instead of looking at the big picture.
2.) Stop nitpicking. Know why Britney's going nuts? Because everyone's taking every single thing she's doing and disecting it. The vast majority of people are more good than bad, so if someone's bugging you, they're probably not doing it because they're lazy or mean. So stop letting it bug you.
3.) Be postitive. Cynicism will take you far...but far in the wrong direction. (Think Hitler.)
4.) Stop thinking EVERYTHING is about you. Good Lord. It's not.
5.) Stop thinking NOTHING is about you. You deserve YOU time. If you don't take time out for YOU, you cannot possibly be the best friend, girlfriend, mother, etc. you can be.
6.) Don't let one bad thing ruin your day. Why are we so fickle? It seems like if one bad thing happens to us in the beginning of the day, we're in a funk and we mark it as "a bad day". Roll with the punches a little bit, people. Life is full of ups and downs. Don't let that jerk who cut you off in your morning rush hour ruin your life. Get over it.
7.) Pick up a book, idiot. No one likes to feel dumb. So pick up a book and educate yourself.
8.) Accomplish what you start. If you always start tasks and never finish them, over time you will start to feel like a failure and eventually give up on starting new adventures all together.
9.) Compliment people more. We need more love. Which leads me to number ten...
10.) Love more. Loving others will help you find the love of yourself. And there is nothing more peaceful than that.
