The Termite Removal Should Be Done By Professionals

Most people are not at all aware of the great damage termite can cause to yards and buildings in particular. If you check carefully the contract you have signed for your home insurance plan, you will find out that your property is not insured against damages caused by termites. This, however, does not mean that the problem is uncommon. Quite the opposite – it is estimated that one in five homes is attacked by a colony of these insects every year in regions around the world which termites normally inhabit. The damage caused by the pests can be substantial and their detection might not happen for months or years. The termite removal is also a difficult and not particularly quick process. Expert skills and knowledge are required in order for the extermination to be complete, efficient and permanent.

These secretive insects live in colonies that infest the house unobserved. Their presence in the home might remain unnoticed by the owner for quite a long time while permanent and sufficient damage is being already caused. These insects feed on wood and can destroy large structures in a very short time especially of they are in great proportions. The wood is infested from within, so the activity of the pests cannot be observed from the outside until the structure is almost completely hollow and surface damage begins to appear. Thousands of homeowners experience problems with termites every year and the damage caused by the infestation costs millions of dollars to get repaired. If the colony presence is not detected for a long time, whole structures may collapse which might present a great danger for the occupants of the house.

Having all this in mind it is more than reasonable to have your property inspected for termites by a professional termite control provider. In this way you will be certain that no pests will go unnoticed and find out how protected from an infestation your home is. In case the inspectors find a termite colony you should continue to rely on their services for its extermination. Do not fall for all the “common sense” advice that you can find from all sorts of people on the internet that usually start with “I’ve heard of this really good method to kill termites”. There are all sorts of suggestions that are more often complete nonsense. The truth is that there are only a number of chemical pesticides known to exterminate termites. An even smaller group of those are approved by the respective health and other authorities. Most importantly, the way and the place in which the insecticides are applied are crucial for the successful removal of the bugs.

There are two main methods of termite removal that are now applied and offered to homeowners. The first, most well known and popular one, is the termite extermination with liquid pesticides (also known as termiticides). There are a number of very high-quality termiticides produced by trusted and world renowned chemical companies. The liquid solution is injected in the nest of the colony found. This might require digging or even drilling hard surfaces such as wood, brick and concrete. The experienced professional knows how to find the nest first and how much of the liquid solution to apply.

Moreover, most companies also guarantee that there will be no consequent termite damage on the structures drilled following the procedure. The effect on the termites is deadly, but the modern pesticides take a short while to act. In this way the poisonous solution is well spread through the entire colony so that all insects are infected and killed. This method of pest removal is quite affordable, but at the dame time it might be potentially hazardous for humans and mammals. Moreover, there is not a guarantee that some time later the termites might not appear again.

A more modern method of termite removal is the so called bait system. Specifically designed capsules containing a chemical substance that prevents the termites from growing to the wood-consumption stage of their development are placed on specific points in your property. The system is slow to take effect, but it cannot harm humans and pets in any way. It is more expensive, but it can be permanently operated for the constant protection of the home. It's called termite home inspection folks.
