Tetanus is a serious disease that affects the muscles. It is also called lockjaw because of the severe spasm of the jaw muscles it is hard for patients to open their mouth.

Symptoms of Tetanus Infection :

Tetanus appears 2 to 50 days after infection, but usually within 5 to 10 days.

  • Stiff and spasm in the neck and jaw muscles
  • Lockjaw
  • Stiffness in the arm and legs
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Headaches
  • Erratic pulse
  • Fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Contraction of the muscle in the pharynx and chest may produce asphyxiation.

Causes of Tetanus :

  • Toxins produced by bacterium clostridium tetani also called tetanus bacillus. This germ grow in the dust and dirt, it doesn't need an air to live. They get into the persons body through cuts or abrasion in the skin. Any dirt in the wound can contain tetanus germs. It grows fast if no air gets to the wound.
  • Rusty metals/objects
  • Animal excrement

Recommended Treatments : Have yourself immunized with tetanus toxoid (a weakened toxin). Booster shots of tetanus toxoid are recommended every 10 years after the age of 5.

Since It is a bacteria the first thing to do is :

  • Wash the wound very well with germicidal soap in running water
  • Apply generous amount of bee propolis cream and aloe vera.
  • Take a lot of bee propolis and garlic supplements.

Recommended Food Supplements, Vitamins and Minerals :

  • Bee propolis
  • Garlic
  • B Complex - 300 mg.
  • C - 200 to 500 mg.
  • E - 600 IU
  • Selenium - 200 mcg.
  • Zinc - 30 mg.
