this is my answer.

The Australian National University is one of the very best Universities in the World.

In saying this I admit to some considerable bias; As I attended there for four years in the 1980's. If I was choosing a place to send my children to a University it would be the ANU.

The ANU is situated on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra the capital of Australia. The home of Federal Parliament, The High Court, The National Library, the National Museum and the National Art Gallery. The Capital is also the main centre for government policy making similar to that of Washington or London.

The ANU has a broad range of faculties from science to the Arts to Law Forestry,Chemistry. As well it has a highly esteemed Research School of Medical Science . Alongside the university in the ajacent street is the CSIRO which is the Nation's top government scientific research organisation.

The teaching side of the university is highly valued in the community and students who graduate are highly sought after in both the the private and public sector. The Law School  is highly regarded as well as the Biochemistry faculty where a lot of research takes place with a very valuable mass spectrometer which the faculty possesses. Similarly Astronomy is another highly regarded faculty the department has its own outer space telescope at Siding Springs, As well the Massive Dish linked with NASA at TIdbibilla. The faculty is regularly engaged with NASA in its space research and development programmes.

The campus is spacious with lots of libraries and areas to study both internally and externally.

In addition the campus is set in pristine natural surrounds conducive to concentating on learning.

The University has several first class colleges. Bruce Hall, John XX111,Toad Hall, some are fully catered whilst others such as Toad Hall you make your own meals.
