Thanksgiving Cards: Sending Greeting Cards for the Other Holiday
88Not many people send Thanksgiving cards. Sending greeting cards for the other holidays – especially Christmas – seems to be something everyone does without a second thought. Thanksgiving cards can be just as welcome.
Whether you are in business and want to extend holiday wishes to your employees and clients, or you are far away from family and friends, sending Thanksgiving greeting cards is a thoughtful way to say, “I am thinking of you.” Since Thanksgiving is a day when we consider all those things we are thankful for it is highly appropriate to send greetings on this day.
However, you should be careful when choosing your cards. If you will be giving them to business colleagues or clients you will want them to have a bit of professionalism and be less causal than those you would give to your family and close friends.

Sending Business Thanksgiving Cards
Sending business Thanksgiving cards can give you an edge when it come to clients, especially if you are in retail and gearing up for the busy Christmas retail season. The right card can remind your clients of just how great you were to work with in the past and how much they want to work with you again.
Choose cards that are in keeping with your business's level of formality. More causal businesses can certainly use humorous cards; however remember that this card will leave one of two impressions of you with your client. Either it will be favorable or it won't be.
Formal Cards:
- Embossing
- Silver or gold accents
- Formal fonts
Informal Cards:
- Humor
- Cartoons
- Casual fonts
A quick Google search for Business Thanksgiving Cards or Corporate Thanksgiving Cards should bring up thousands of companies that would love to create the perfect card for your business.
While many companies might go for the pre-printed signature you should have someone (preferably yourself) hand sign the cards. This gives them a little more personalization. If you can include a short note, so much the better.
This is when it is a benefit to have kept notes on your customers. Your note could say something like-
Rob, hope that Ginny loved the earrings you bought her for her birthday last month. It was great seeing you. May your Thanksgiving Holiday be filled with friends and family. Don
This expresses that the businessman actually remembers the customer, knows something about his life, and is interested in him. If that customer wants to buy a necklace to match the earrings where is he going to go?
Plan to strategically send out your corporate Thanksgiving greeting cards so that they arrive the week of Thanksgiving. When it is time to Christmas shop you will be on their minds in a good way.
Personalized Thanksgiving Cards
Personalized Thanksgiving Cards for Clients
In some cases you may want to send personalized Thanksgiving cards for your business, especially if you have a large client list.
It is still very important to write a personal note to those clients that are the most profitable for you. Just a few lines in ink to let them know you see them as individuals. Thanksgiving business cards are a tool to link you and your client when used properly.
Personalized Thanksgiving Cards for Family
In the same way, if you are getting your cards printed and personalized be sure to add a quick note to your family members to let them know you are thinking of them. Personalized Thanksgiving cards save time and they look great but be aware that they can lack that human touch.
Thanksgiving Cards for Family and Friends
Of course you can be more casual when it comes to the cards you want to give your family. Even free e-cards are an acceptable way to say Happy Thanksgiving.
You can use humorous cards, nostalgic cards or formal cards to express your thoughts. Some of the popular Thanksgiving symbols are:
- Pumpkins
- Autumn Leaves
- Turkeys
- Cornucopia
- Corn
You might also consider making your own homemade Thanksgiving cards to send.
Celebrate!
No matter what the holiday celebrate it with everything you have. Celebrations have been a part of humankind since the beginning.
- Make Thanksgiving projects
- Read Thanksgiving stories
- And don't forget the food
By sending cards out on Thanksgiving you can let people know you are thinking of them. You can increase your favor with your clients. You can share memories with your friends. It is a lot of communication in a very small package.
Don't wait for the Christmas season to get in touch with people this year.

I like thanksgiving day.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is a day reserved for family, friends and football (the Lions have played on Thanksgiving Day since 1934!) but more importantly it's a day set aside where we can come together and acknowledge our gratitude to Almighty God for His provision, love and salvation thru His Son, Jesus Christ.
What a lovely way to reach out to people and give them a lift in their day.
Very nice and thoughtful. I had not thought about sending Thanksgiving cards. good job.

I like this. I have a hard time remembering, and getting cards out to loved ones. This is a very creative way, and a rememberable way of doing it! Thank you :)
