Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is about Miley Cyrus. Is she really all that talented? I just know they captured some interesting pictures of her making funny faces. Big deal. Anyone can do that, seriously. The song she sung is not all that good. I really did not care for it. I'm hoping she's a better actress. I don't wish I could be a fly on the wall, but I wish she was. No, I'm just kidding. Also, David Archuletta, he smiles so much. There's nothing wrong with that at all, he's so short, I wouldn't say he's cute, or talented for that matter. He sure does have a lot of teeny bopper fans.
I am so very glad David Cooke won American Idol though, he's awesome. I wish Carly would have stuck around though. Christina Augilera just bothers me, I think it's her hair do. Those bangs aggravate me, she wears them like a little kid, and the lipstick is so dark. Her skin is so fair, her lips need something a little more natural and lighter. A natural color would compliment her. They also make such a big deal out of the Jonas brothers. EH. I say their all just like you and I, just with different talents. What's the big fuss about, really?
I am glad Taylor Swift won, I love her music and I think she's one of the more sincere famous singers. I also like Mariah Carey, don't know why, I just have always liked her music since I was little. No matter what Mariah comes out with, I tend to enjoy her songs. One of my old friends is supposedly related to her through marriage. Don't know if I really believe it.
Rihanna is such a beautiful girl, but what the heck is she wearing? Wow, what was she thinking?!?!?
Jimmy kimmel is cool, I never really watch him though. Do you guys watch his show? Is he funny?
Beyonce is OK, her latest song I CANNOT stand "Put a ring on it." BUT, I love that song "If I were a boy" The ending got me all choked up, for real. Here's the video.
I would like to know your thoughts on the video.
- Jonas Brothers did a pretty good performance, despite my judgement earlier. Sorry guys, I'm writing this as I'm watching.
Pussycat dolls are OK also, I used to like them, I don't know what to think anymore though. Why do they have to use POLES to be sexy, can't they find other ways, I think it's kinda trashy. But of course the guys enjoy it. Atleast Nicole was covered up.
Pink's songs I've always liked although she's kind of out of the ordinary and very unique, it sets her apart from many of the artists.
I'm also glad Alicia Keys won. She deserves it.
What do you guys think so far?
Justin Timberlake looked good. Definately.
Kanye too is trying to be on top, I never really cared for his music. He gives me a headache.
Sarah Mclachlan sounds better on her CD.
Overall, I didn't care for much of the performances. I would have rather listened to my iPod. I guess that's why they call it entertainment, except it wasn't all that entertaining.

Yeah I abandoned radio a few years ago. I probably will step on toes here, but people like Carrie Underwood and the like annoy me. She doesn't write her own material (although she claims to). She 'collaborates' on lyrics, strums a few chords on a guitar, and sings. Don't get me wrong she's a decent singer, but highly overrated. Her songs aren't even good at all.
There are a lot of better bands out there who write 100% of their own material, play multiple instruments and have two or three good singers in the band alone. They don't make it to mtv, but no real musician wants to! It ruined music for all of us as children and it's ruining it as adults. I can't stomach it anymore.
Another problem is marketing. It's about managers making money (see my hub about "Why Free Music ROCKS!). Managers make millions off of hawt chicks like Rihanna, especially if she'll dance a sexy dance and dress so skimpy that there's not much left for the imagination. It's ALL about worshiping celebrity these days, and I'm sick-to-death of it. :)
Sorry, I'm not usually this crochety. It's the holidays and I work retail... lol .
lol I feel ya! I know what your saying though. They lose the purpose of it all. Alls they want to do is be on top, and they'll do anything to get on top, even if it means not writing their own work, or pleasing their crowds with authentic music. It's all about the look and competition, it's sickening, for real, I totally agree with you. I thought Carrie Underwood was good also, but she's not amazingly good or authentic, she is highly overated as you say, I can't agree with you anymore. The sad thing is, there are so many young people out there...trying to be just like em'.
And that's the great American dream-turned-sin...the worship of these "role models" who stuff their pockets and horde the money gained by unethical marketing of useless rubbish they call "music."
Yep, it's sad! I sent you a message about teaming up, let me know if you got it!

T Keeley, thanks for your comment so much. I agree with you. They make such a big deal at of nothing at all. There are alot of talentless singers, so bad, I could get away singing what they do, seriously.. Some of it horrible, I wonder if they just paid someone off to get a deal or something, I really don't get it. I mean there are some, a select few truly talented singers out there. I can't listen to the radio anymore, I have to shut it off everytime, it gets SO annoying! Thanks for stopping by!
