The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is Almost Here!

The Ford Mustang has reigned over the muscle car world for the past decade with their “new” old throwback body design. Well although Chevrolet may be a bit late to the party; they have definitely shown up with some pretty eye candy!

The new Camaro will be offered in 3 different trim levels; and as you may guess since we are staying with the throwback theme these will be the LS, LT, and SS. Not quite sure what the LS and LT stand for but I know SS stands for Super Sport. But what you should really know is that the LS/LT will sport a V-6 while the SS will rock a big V-8!

Before we get to the real meat; let’s just look at what you can expect with the base model. The LS will start in the low $20k range but for that price you get so much. First off you get some nice 18-inch rims that reflect the old school style, some nice sized brakes and either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. But the real gold mine of the base model is the 300-hp V-6. That’s right, you get the same 300-hp a Ford Mustang GT makes but in a V-6.

Now the SS model is the beast we have all been waiting to see. Starting with the rollers, a set of 20-inch rims will be available to set-off the gorgeous styling, and some large 14-inch brakes will bring this animal to a screeching halt. The big V-8 will produce 420-hp and 408-lb ft of torque, which is enough to melt some serious rubber. But my favorite feature is definitely the technological advancement of cylinder deactivation. The addition of cylinder deactivation which will boost fuel economy by essentially turning the V-8 into a 4-cylinder vehicle while putting around. But step on the gas and the V-8 will come roaring to life. The price of the SS is slated to cost around $30k; which is a darn good deal considering what you will get!

These are beautiful. They have the same basic shape as the classic Camaros from the sixties, but with gas mileage and safety features of a more current model. I sure would like to drive one!
