#3: Honda Civic Coupe

The Honda Civic coupe is more expensive than the last two entrants, but to me, it's right up there with them. It's low slung, swoopy, and very Japanese sport-compact looking - if you ask me, this looks like it should have been the next Honda Integra/Acura RSX design, until Honda decided to kill the Integra. It's also by FAR the best-looking Honda Civic ever designed.

#2: Subaru Impreza

The Subaru Impreza is very good looking in both forms: sedan and "wagon" variant (I say it looks more like a hatchback, but whatever.) It's the highest-priced car on this list, beginning at around 17,499 MSRP for the sedan, 17,999 for the hatchback. The short overhangs and clean design, along with the slightly more sporting stance than your usual compact, make this a classic, good-looking design. It can get expensive when you add options and power it up, but this is a winner.

The winner of this list is, to me, VERY obvious: the Mitsubishi Lancer has the most looks-per-dollar you will find. If it weren't badged and you showed it to me from the rear and asked me what kind of car this is, I would guess an Alfa-Romeo. The slanty narrow taillights and headlights, and the angry snout of the car, as well as the clean, forward-leaning design from the side view, give this car a real nice look. And best of all, it starts below 15k.

Driving in style is not quite as expensive as it used to be, and it seems to me that little cheap cars are getting better and better-looking. Choose wisely, drive in style and ride low.
