Attraction Marketing - Turning Lies to Truths

Having been involved in Network Marketing off and on (more off than on) for over 25 years, and having had very little success in the business, I wanted to hear about the "7 Great Lies."

Ann Sieg, in her e-book is identifying a new model in network marketing that uses internet attraction marketing, instead of the old techniques of prospecting. In fact, the first great lie is that "Everyone is your prospect."

Anyone who has done any network marketing can remember being told by their upline to make a list of all friends, family and anyone else that come in contact with. If you really followed through on these instructions, you can probably also remember seeing people go out of there way to avoid you.

So I think most would agree that Ann's is telling the truth in her "Lie #1."

The next two lies are related. You don't have to sell, and anyone can do this. Now it makes sense that someone trying to talk you into joining them in their business would tell you these two lies. After all, most of us don't want to sell and don't think we are good at it. So we end selling, something we are not good at, while trying to convince ourselves that we are not selling. That sounds like a perfect model for a successful business doesn't it.

Let's give Ann credit for lies 2 and 3.

We'll build the business for you, we have the best products ever, and we have a proven system, lies 4, 5 and 7, are the next group we will tackle. The discussion can be summed up in three short statements (or questions). If they are going to do it all, what do they need you for? They all say they have the best products - how can that be? A proven system - what, proven not to work?

Lies? Check, check and check.

And finally, lie # 6, you don't have enough belief. This may be the most offensive of all, and I don't mean on Ann Sieg's part, but on those who try to shame us into following their instructions. Now to be fair to our upline, they were following instructions as well, and they most likely believed they were telling you the truth.

But I think we can safely say Ann was 7 for 7, and telling the truth.

That seems to be the problem with the old model. It just didn't work and we were uncomfortable with it. These are 7 great lies.

And the book does not stop there. Ann tells us about a new model that deals with each of these lies. The answer is attraction marketing. Network marketing definitely is sales and you need some marketing skills to be successful in this business. Attracting prospects to your business very different from talking to everyone you know, or cold calling or emailing lists you buy.

Not everyone can do this business because it requires a certain set of skills, but with the proper instruction and tools on the internet, those marketing skills don't require a college degree. In fact it is simple enough for anyone who is willing to learn the skills and apply them.

The only question then is the time and the cost. With the internet and the proper step-by-step instruction, the time can be cut to just a few months. Marketing with the social media sites like You Tube and My Space and a blog (oh and Hub Pages) is work, but not difficult if you can follow click-by-click instructions.

And the cost is small. You can have all of the sites I mentioned above for no cost or very little cost. In fact, as Ann points out, you can make some money prospecting as well. You can monetize the process of finding your prospects.

I know, how do you do all this? It's a great question. The best help that I have found, and it has helped my business quadruple in just a month, is Renegade University. There you will find a resource with simple click-by-click instructions for you and for any prospect you might attract that even computer novices can follow. And again it is free, or if you need a little more help, low cost. Check it out.

So in my opinion, Ann is right on the money about the 7 great lies, and more importantly, she points out how to make network marketing work for anyone who is willing to learn the basic skills of Attraction Marketing.

That's my opinion, and I would love to hear yours.
