I suffer from constant heartburn, I think it may be from the mountain dew I drink mainly. I have noticed that when I don't drink as much Mt. Dew I don't have so many instances of heartburn. Though I don't know if I have Acid Reflux Disease, I do know that your suggested diet will help regardless if they have GERD or not. This is another great hub full of useful information.

Thank you for the comment StixBrown.
I've always believed that I have the digestive system of a mountain goat and so could probably digest a steel spatula. However, my father told me that when he was young, he was able to do the same but not anymore. I fear for my future!
My father has been suffering from acid reflux disease for a long time. However, he's never tried chewing gum. Thanks for the tips, I'll recommend your hub to him.
