The All-Natural Diabetes Cure
68The Problem
In the last 20-30 years,Type 2 Diabetes has risen dramatically, with most cases being "discovered", or diagnosed, in the last 15 years. That, incidentally, has coincided with the rise of obesity in Western civilizations. And the Diabetes Associations in these countries all give the same advice: Cut down on saturated animal fats, choose low-fat dairy foods, and choose plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. In short, eat a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet.
But this is not what the evidence says. The American Journal of Medicine, 1987, states, "Avoid the use of low-fat, high carbohydrate diets in diabetes patients." The New England Journal of Medicine, 1988, concurs: "A high monounsaturated diet resulted in a lower mean plasma glucose levels...reduced insulin requirements..."
Dr. James Hays, an endocrinologist presented 3 studies at an annual meeting of the Enocrine Society in 1999. Men and women who had Type 2 Diabetes were put on a very high fat, low carbohydrate diet. They were free to eat all the animal products they wanted, but were restricted to fresh fruits and vegetables for their carbohyrate sources.
The results of those studies were nothing short of phenomenal:
In one year:
- Total mean cholesterol decreased from 231 to 190 mg/dl
- LDL decreased 133 to 105 mg/dl
- HDL increased 44 to 47 mg/dl
- Triglycerides decreased 229 to 182 mg/dl
- Average weight loss was around 40 pounds
This evidence completely destroys the "traditional wisdom" of prescribing a low fat diet for patients with Type 2 Diabetes, and yet, it is completely ignored by most of the medical profession, as well as many dietitians and nutrition consultants. Why? Regardless of how many studies are done, nor how many people proclaim that low carb diets are best for curing diabetes, no one in high places seem to be listening.
I have a theory--pharmaceutical companies are very much concerned with their bottom lines. (Isn't every business??) Pushing drugs has become a very big business, and money seems to motivate everyone--including your doctor! Doctors actually make money when they prescribe medications, and if they can keep you in the dark about the true and natural ways to cure diabetes for good, then they stand to make a lot of money for a very long time!
In the next few sections, I will provide you with a natural and lasting cure for diabetes where you don't need medications any longer. Plus, you may just lose some weight as well!
Shouldn't I Trust My Doctor?
That depends...does your doctor get upset or defensive when you bring up topics such as using diet/nutrition to cure diseases? Does your doctor tell you that nutrition can only help you so far, but then medication is to help with the rest of your disease? Then....probably not. But then, why should you trust me? Great question!
While I do not have a medical degree, nor do I have the experience of being a scientist with impressive letters after my name, I also don't have the corporate funds backing me, telling me what to tell you. I have several years of independent health and nutrition research without the biases of greed and corruption. Also, I am a certified Nutritional Consultant. Trust me or not--it's up to you. But remember, you can trust your doctor, and be sick for the rest of your life. It's not up to me--it's up to you. So, it may pay to have an open mind...
Cause of Type 2 Diabetes
In spite of what all the doctors, nutritionists, and scientists backed by corporate giants say, Type 2 Diabetes is caused by chronic consumption of carbohydrates in the diet--starches and sugars, mostly. And grains are converted to sugar in the body, regardless of how complex a carbohydrate is. But the current "healthy" advice for diabetics is a chronic consumption of carbohydrates. How is that going to help?
For starters, that would be like telling a smoker that they have lung cancer, and to cure it, they must smoke more cigarettes. Now, knowing what we know today, and what is popular knowledge today, this would seem ludicrous. But this is exactly what diabetic patients are told to do! Though doctors are willing to admit that a poor diet causes diabetes, they aren't willing to admit the entire truth--the truth supported by hundreds of thousands of studies that are being outright ignored by doctors, media, and the public.
The truth that a high saturated fat diet is, in fact, healthy for you in the long term, and that high carbohydrate diets are making you sicker. (You can read all about these studies, and a more thorough explanation in the resources section.)
So, what are you supposed to eat? The next section will answer that for you.

The Nutrition to Cure Diabetes
First off, let's get something straight--saturated fats are NOT your enemy, while carbohydrates coming from grains, sugars, and starches are. Remember that as we look at how you can cure your diabetes without using drugs or excessive exercise.
Now, the ratios that you need for your daily meals are as follows:
- 10-15% carbohydrates (taken from fruits and vegetables)
- 20-25% Protein
- 60-70% Fat
The dieticians and doctors are going to have a hissy fit with the above ratios, because of all the media and "conventional wisdom" spouted out by the Associations. However, it has been proven time and again that the above ratios work very well. (Research this for yourself in the resources section.)
You will want to get your proteins and fats from grass fed and cage free animals, as this will be the healthiest for you. Use fresh vegetables whenever possible, but frozen is great too. Canned should not be used because of the metal and other things that may leak into the contents.
If you want an "okay" list of foods to choose from, here is a sampling. However, I do not want to dictate to you what to eat, so I say "sampling". Just remember that potatoes, beans, and grains are starches and grains, which will not help you cure your diabetes.
What to choose:
- meats
- eggs
- dairy
- fruits
- vegetables
- nuts, except peanuts, which are part of the legume family
- berries
- tea you make yourself, with the following sweeteners
Sweeteners to use:
- agave nectar
- molasses (not for tea, though...ugh!)
- Stevia
So now you know what the doctors refuse to tell you. Give it a try for one week. See how you feel. See what your glucose levels are like...if this does not work for you, go back to what your doctor tells you to do...keep taking the drugs...after all, your doctor is an authority, right?
