If you aren't sure what parkour is, you are not alone. Parkour is an activity physical in nature that is often kind of hard to put into one specific type of category. Some people, a lot of times, actually, will call it an extreme sport, but it really isn't. In sports you have rules, team work, some sort of heirarchy and you are competing with someone or another team, and none of those things exist in parkour.
You do it for yourself, not for other people or to beat them. Some people believe that in the near future they might try to put it into a sport and many are worried that it would take away from the basic feel of parkour and do not want it. I see their side, I do, beacuse parkour was created for the purpose of self improvement, not to beat other people.
Finding good parkour training can really help you out, and finding a good trainer is the first step.

Being efficient in parkour is pretty much the #1 goal. If you are a parkour practitioner then you will want to be able to move as rapidly as possible and you need to be efficent in your moving as well. Just being fast is good, but why go through double the length of a course or wall, if you are good you can avoid the extra movement, but a lot of times that just comes with experience and is learned after repeating certain courses many time. Physical and mental obstacles can sometimes be the biggest things in your way when learning, just keep trying and don't give up that easy.
