Getting Traffic

Driving traffic to your websites and blog pages is easier than you might think. The art of it is writing content that readers can wrap their minds around and gain solid information on the topic at hand.

Driving traffic to your websites and blog pages is easier than you might think. The art of it is knowing how to do it day in and day out through different resources.

Here is a list of things you can do to get your traffic moving.

#1. Start a blog page that ties in to the topic of your website.

Blogging is one of the primary ways website owners will get the word out about what they have to offer.

For example; lets say you have a website that sells butterfly nets and other related items like books on butterflies and such.

You would start a blog page that would talk about butterflies.

"Personally I would not want to catch one of the cuties but hey I had a picture of one and my brain thought of Butterfly nets.. Go figure!" ♥

There are most likely a ton of other folks out there that love butterflies and love reading about them. Now, since you are the authority on butterflies you can easily write about them on a daily basis. Good blog content is what people are looking for. They want to learn something.

If you are not into writing or just can not find the time to do it. Find someone who can do it for you.

After you gaze at the cute pic. for a second, keep reading about Pinging, Bookmarking, Article and Press Releases and the BIGGIE for whats in 2.0 VIDEO BLOGGOLAS..

Keep your Pics and Advertizing to the Right Side of Your Blog Pages!

O.k, the only folks that I know of that know this are the pro bloggers.

Those sweet litter spyders that crawl around on your pages for rankings;

READ FROM LEFT TO RIGHT!

Keep your pictures and advertizing to the right of your pages

Don't forget to put an opt-in form on your page with an auto-responder!

I can not stress to you the importance of having an auto-responder and your opt-in box on your blog page!

If you leave this step out you are letting your visitors take off never to be seen again.

Think of when YOU are surfing the net. How often do you remember where you went to find what you are seeking? You get sidetracked with all the other stuff. Yeah, it's like that with everyone else. Our attention span is only as good as the last click.

There are many auto-response companies to choose from. I personally like Aweber!

I have a post on my review page that talks all about it so I will not re-write in this section. I don't want a hub slap.

#2 Pinging and Bookmarking

Every single time you post new content to your blog page, PING it and BOOKMARK IT!

Pinging: I use Pingomatic as well as Pingoat.

You can sign up for free on both. By pinging you are letting the serach engines know that you have new content out there. This will help in your rankings as long as your content is relevant to your title.

BookMarking:

I use a service called onlywire. It will take a bit of time to set it all up but is totally worth the investment of about 30 mnutes.

When you bookmark your blog post it will send that post out to several other social sites. Oh the power of web 2.0....

Articles and Press Releases

I know, more writing....

But here is the thing, if you want traffic and you are serious about it and your on line business;

YOU WILL DO IT!!!

Article writing is one of my top traffic drivers. I am really not that great of a writer at all but for some reason my traffic seems to like it just fine.

Here's what know hands down. I have seen some really crappy articles out there (including some on my own) and the traffic still comes.

So who do I use? Well, before I found Hub Pages, I pretty much used E-Zine Articles and exclusively.

A few other sites are out there as well. One thing to be very careful of is to make sure your content is original and DO NOT use the same article for two different article submission sites.

That is a BIG FAT NO NO!!!

Alright lets get into PRESS RELEASES.

When you write press releases about your business, you are standing out a bit more in the crowd as a serious business and not just a fly by night company.

People love to read press releases. Which reminds me to do one this week for my own business.

Whenever you do something new in your organization no matter how big or how small. no matter is you are a big company or a sole proprietor, you should have something at least once a month to tell the world.

For instance:

We will go back to the Butterfly thing here.

You have a just decided to offer a new product that attract butterflies to gardens.

Announce it in your press release. This is just plain easy and takes less than ten minutes.

Oh, I almost forgot, PRWEB is the preferred place to go for press releases.

Adding Video Posts!

We are in a new world now were it is just about impossible to get away from creating some type of video post to generate more traffic to our pages. Lets face if kids, If you are not a college student or a 12 year old you may just be behind the 8-ball when it comes to grabbing up all that traffic if you do not keep up with what the youth of today are doing.

Video posts have pretty much taken over an like or not, if you don't have at least a link on your page to one you are taking a big chance of having your readers spend less time on your page.

It is that important.... YouTube, Viddler, and a hand full of others out there get some of the highest rankings and you really want to be a part of it.

I do all of my video posts with a cute little gizmo called the FLIP Video. It is one powerhouse for the internet marketers and we are all pretty much in agreement that they are the easiest to use to get the job done fast.

While there are other options for video cameras out there. It is the FLIP that I have Flipped over!

Do a few practice runs on creating a little video and you will get more comfortable in front of the lense as you continue to create your content.

I hope this will help you out on your journey to driving your free traffic and to start building your list!

Of Course you can alway pay for it through Pay Per Click Campaigns...But unless you have the finacial resourses and know your stuff really well, I would recommend starting out with these tips before spending your hard earned cash.

I will be writing an article on using Pay Per Click as well as other forms o advertizing methods and options in my next HUB!

Stay well and prosper daily!
