The Australian National University is one of the very best Universities in the World.

I say this I admit with some bias as I attended there for four years in the 1980's. If I was choosing a place to send my child to a University it would be the ANU.

The ANU is situated on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra the capital of Australia. The home of Federal Parliament, The High Court, The National Library, the National Museum and the National Art Gallery. The Capital is also the main centre for government policy making similar to that of Washington or London.

The ANU has a broad range of faculties from science to the Arts to Law Forestry,Chemistry. As well it has a highly regarded Research School of Medical Science. Alongside the ANU iis the CSIRO (commonwealth scientific research organisation)which is the Nations top government scientific research organisation with a number of research divisions.

The teaching side of the university is highly respected in the community and students who graduate are highly sought after in both private and the public sector. Similarly Astronomy is another highly regarded faculty; The department has its own outer space telescope at Siding Springsand Gianty Dish at Tidbinbilla. The faculty is regularly engaged with NASA in its joint space research projects.  The ANU also has a school of music.
