Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia was written by C.S. Lewis between 1949 and 1954.  They are a set of 7 children's books which have strong Christian tones inside of them. I was introduced to these books in school, but ended up reading the rest of the series on my own again and again.

I am always looking for ways to help me understand God better and these books have helped shape the way I view Jesus forever.

Narnia Toys

There is no doubt in my mind that the Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books of all time.  While being swept away into another world of adventure, Lewis masterfully weaves in Christian themes that have brought me to tears again and again.

Awestores.com has a wonderful collection of Narnia Toys if you want to bring the stories to life for you or your kids.  Shop for The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as well as Prince Caspian figures.

The Seven Books

What's your favorite Narnia book?  This is a tough one for me, but I'd have to go with The Last Battle because of the imagery of the Kingdom in it's fullest.  All our great to be sure.

I've always loved The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and desperately want it to become a movie.  It's sad that Disney backed away from this franchise, but I think if someone is smart, they'll see the potential that is in the Treader.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is the classic story and the introduction into Narnia.  They symbolism of Aslan's sacrifice to Jesus is not hard to grasp, and it is beautiful.

Eustace and Jill are great in The Silver Chair, which gives us one of my favorite characters, Puddleglum.

I've always appreciated The Horse and His Boy for the different forms that Aslan takes throughout the story.  Lewis brilliantly depicts that Christ reveals to us in different ways at different times.

You have to love the creation account in The Magician's Nephew, a deeply magical book.

Prince Caspian, sadly, is probably my least favorite of them all except for the fact that it introduces Reepicheep - one of my favorite Narnian characters by far.

Narnia Costumes

Another great way to enter the world of Narnia is through these great Narnia Costumes.  Discover what it's like to dress up as Lucy, King Peter, or Prince Caspian.  Your kids will love imagining themselves in Narnia, and it's a great way to get them involved in these beloved stories.
