The Barnes and Noble Nook Review

Barnes and Noble Nook eBook Reader
Are you ready for the Barnes and Noble’s newest e-book called the Nook? E-book readers are the newest trend when it comes to reading. Are you craving for a new book? You can gain instant access to the book by downloading it onto your Nook and having instant gratification. The Nook is equipped with a 3G (think I-Phone internet connection) connection that allows avid readers to easily grab millions of bestsellers, novels, magazines, and newspapers. Want to read Dan Brown’s newest novel while hanging out at the park? Just pull out your Nook and download the book on your free 3G connection! How awesome is that!? On top of that, if you are apprehensive about wasting your money on a crappy book, you have the ability to sample each eBook for free. With the Nook’s massive amount of storage, you will be able to store a massive amount of books all on one very portable eBook reader. Reduce the clutter in your life Approximately 1,500 books can be stored on the reader and 17,000 books can be stored with the extra memory card that comes free with the reader. The eBook reader is equipped with 2GB of hard disk memory. Are you worried about slow download speeds and not being able to download your entire book? Do not worry about this as you will be able to download all eBooks with lightening quick speed.
The Nook’s screen is very sleek and is easily maneuverable with a color touch screen pad. Many people are worried about the screen’s quality and how it will affect their eyes when reading. Anyone who has stared at a computer screen for massive amounts of time understands how sore their eyes get after large amounts of time at the computer. However, this eBook has a state of the art technology that makes the text appear as if you are reading a brand new crisp page from a printed book. Glare off of high glossy screens is another problem with laptops and tablets. However, the Nook reads just like paper and the text will stay the same in any kind of light. Also, the best part of this is that you can take virtual notes and make text larges, highlight, and write annotations next to pages – all with your touch screen pad! Think of being able to carry all of your college textbooks within one very light, very portable eBook reader. I remember when I was in college and how much I hated lugging my bag around because I had 4 very heavy business books in my bag at all time. Too bad they didn’t create an eBook reader in the past as it would have saved all the pain of carrying a ton of books in my backpack. Also, being able to take notes on the screen will save thousands of crumpled on illegible writing. The future of studying is here!
The touch screen is a 3.5 inch space that is colorful and allows the user to have total navigation control with a slide of the finger. The dimensions of the Nook are very portable and you can easily carry the eBook reader in a small purse or backpack. The height is 7.7 inches, width is 4.9 inches, depth is .5 inches and weight is 11.2 ounces. The battery is already installed and the reader comes equipped with a wireless adapter that is able to connect to the AT&T 3G networks for free. You will only get free wireless in Barnes and Noble book stores but you can also receive free wireless if you “steal” it from any unsecure connection. Are you worried about battery life? The reader has an amazing rechargeable battery that allows you to read up to 10 days on a full charge! It takes only 3.5 hours to charge the batter and you are on your way to reading mania! 10 days of reading off of one charge! Awesome!
So what does the Nook come with? When you open the book you should expect an eBook reader, a USB cable, an instruction booklet, a power adapter, and a pre-installed rechargeable battery. While you are reading, you can also listen to your favorite tunes or audio books because the book also plays MP3 player.
Ok, if you are getting as excited as I am about this product, you are probably wondering why you should buy this instead of the Amazon Kindle. Here is a comparison of the Kindle compared to the Nook. The Kindles does not have a color touch screen or a touch control navigation function. You will not be able to view the cover of the books with the Kindle where as the Barnes and Noble eBook reader shows the cover of each book. You will not have a Wi-Fi/802. 11b/g with the Kindle and won’t be able to access free wireless in Barnes and Noble Stores. There is not memory expansion so you are stuck with what you get in the Kindle. Also, the Kindle currently does not have as large of a selection as the Nook. Currently, the Nook has over one millions different titles to download instantly! Basically, the Nook is the better version of the Kindle. You can preorder the Nook and it will cost you $219 to get your hands on one.
Nook Release Date
For those of you who want to know the Barnes and Noble Nook release date, you are looking at a Nov. 30th release with pre-orders going on as you are reading this. If you pre-order the Nook, then your Nook will not ship until 12/7, but at least you'll receive it as a pretty little X-Mas gift!

Great review however I love reading and I just dont think I wold ever be able to part with a real book... feeling the pages in my hands the smell of the pages. and the none electronic view of a book. It kinda shows us where our world going in a way.. Great job tho.....
That's the whole argument about an eBook reader and having a real book. I love the fact though that I could use the Nook as a study device and have ALL of my textbooks on one device instead of lugging around 3 very heavy accounting books all over campus. But you're right, there's nothing like having a solid paperback to read on a cold rainy day :)
It looks good - nice review btw. It's going to be really interesting to see where the e-book reader market is going. Amazon have had it all their own way for a long time - and to be fair to them, they have driven the market upwards with both the K2 and the DX - but there are now so many "Kindle killers" lining up it's amazing. I bet Amazon have got a few tricks up their sleeve though.
good information on the nook, I have looked in to book readers but have not chosen one yet.
Great review of the Nook! Saw this at B&N yesterday—can't wait until the price of these comes down a little, though. I think we'll see them for $99 at some point, and that should be the magic price point for most people.
Great review, thanks for comparing the Nook and the Kindle
Nice hub, even for someone like me who lost in translation
when it come to technology
This sounds like a real convenient reading device, especially considering it isn't hard on your eyes. I enjoyed reading your article.
I like your hub. Can you please check out mine? Its called STARTING A FIRE. I would appreciate any comments you might have. Thanks!
thanx
thanks for the info, I hear this product is completely sold out thru the holidays!
This sounds great! The screen being like reading from a print book is the big selling point to me, usually on the computer I have to print out articles before I can actually read them. The computer is too hard on the eyes.
