The Beauty of Horse Jewelry

As you know, I am a big fan of jewelry, of all types and sizes. I especially like watches, but any jewelry that is fashionable and stylish will suit my fancy. I recently decided to look into a whole sub-genre of jewelry, one that you may have been a fan of for a while now, especially if you are an animal lover and certainly if you are a horse lover. There is an entire market out there for horse jewelry, of all shapes, sizes, and materials. And this jewelry is not just for people who "grew up in the country". Horse jewelry can be worn and enjoyed by anyone who values these graceful animals for what they are, and the role horses still play in our lives and culture. Horse jewelry lets you wear something valuable that links you back to this tradition.

Gold Horse Jewelry Is Always Fashionable

If you are going to wear horse jewelry, one of the best types of jewelry is gold. Gold will never go out of style, for the next one hundred years at least. If you look at some of the horse jewelry available, you realize that gold is a popular choice to make it in. There are pendants and brooches made out of gold that have a horse motif on them, and many of these are very beautiful, and have a certain charm to them. If you are looking for a gift for your son or daughter that rides, you might want to reserve a gold horse pendant for something really special, or a crowning achievement. For example, if your daughter likes to barrel race, perhaps get a piece gold horse jewelry after she wins a major event, or has a very good showing in a prestigious competition. If you are wanting to get a gift for someone that is more for everyday wear, or to wear while riding, you might want to consider something made out of silver or sterling silver.

Sterling Silver Horse Jewelry Is More Affordable

If you are looking for a horse jewelry gift, or perhaps just riding apparel, sterling silver is definitely the most affordable. Plus, you won't have to worry as much about losing it in the arena or the barn, since sterling silver is a little more durable and solid than some gold pieces. Sterling silver is actually an alloy of silver, and won't rust or tarnish with proper care, and is perfect for wearing while riding and taking care of your horse. Since it is more affordable, you can experiment with different pieces of jewelry, for what looks good and works best in the riding situation you are in. If you are doing a lot of rope work, or on and off the saddle, you don't want a necklace or pendant getting caught on something, so you might stick with horse earrings or bracelet.

Horse Hair Jewelry Is For The True Horse Fan

Another type of horse jewelry that is made is horse hair jewelry. This jewelry is actually made from horse hair, either from a horse hair supplier, or from your very own horse. The places that specialize in horse hair jewelry can take your order, and have you send them clippings from your horses mane or tail, and they will create a custom piece of jewelry for you. This can be bracelets, or necklaces, or hat bands, or various other types of jewelry. Horse hair jewelry could be the perfect accent to go with your western riding outfit, and to really fill out your look for the competition arena or for showing. Jewelry made from horse can be affordable, or with practice, you could even give it a shot yourself. Of course, professional made is always there for those who don't have the time or patience to make your own.

Always Shop Around for Any Horse Jewelry

As I say on all of my hubpages, you must shop around to find the best deals on anything. Horse jewelry is no exception, not matter which type of jewelry you are looking for. There are several places on the internet that specialize in horse jewelry, and their prices are reasonable. If you want horse hair jewelry, there are places that specialize in that too. Don't be afraid to look at several places and compare their prices, and contact them to see what kind of deals they may have. They will probably be willing to share their love of horses with you, and you never know what kind of horse loving friends you will make.
