The freshness and quality of coffee in our culture today has been grossly downplayed, which is the reason majority of average coffee drinkers out there are not necessarily hip to the fact that it is so much better to purchase whole coffee beans than buying a pre-ground mix. The truth of the matter is that even whole coffee beans will begin to get stale within two weeks, so you should be approaching your coffee drinking process with the optimum value for freshness by not keeping old coffee around for months at a time. If you constantly keep fresh beans on hand, then you will never compromise the overall flavor profile and the complexity of your coffees taste and robustness.

It’s been proven by coffee drinkers everywhere that is better by far to always freshly grind your beans right before you plan on brewing your coffee. Again, if you do happen to purchase pre-ground beans within a store, just know that freshly ground coffee begins to go stale after two hours so there is no possible way that the coffee that you are buying is fresh by any means. The reason that it is so important to focus on buying fresh coffee beans is that the flavor of your coffee bean actually comes from its own natural oil, and when the beans sit out for a long time after the roasting process that oil begins to oxidize, and it will soon go stale. The next thing on your list after purchasing the freshest in quality of coffee beans is to, of course, go out and get a grinder. It may feel like it is extra work to drink something as simple as coffee, especially when you are stumbling around in the morning with one eye open, but grinding beans actually takes just less than one moment. The burr grinder is actually what is recommended by most coffee drinkers, but even if you purchase a regular blade grinder you are way ahead of those who are drinking pre-ground coffee that they got at a grocery store.

The last point to make is that there are actually two type of coffee beans out there, Arabica and Robusta. Arabica is by far known to be the better coffee bean because Robusta something that is mass-produced and used as a filler for cheaper coffee blends. Choosing your 100% Arabica beans is very simple once you know what you’re looking for. Arabica is actually the more premium type of bean that you will find most of your gourmet and specialty coffee blends, so make sure that when you are purchasing fresh whole beans to grind in your home that they do say 100% Arabica. The simple change in your coffee drinking routine of using fresh ground beans is going to make all the difference. Drinking your morning coffee is one of life’s best simple pleasures that you can enjoy every day, so why not add to that optimum flavor with the freshest coffee you can find? You will be a believer!
