Tea is a popular drink all over the world. It was discovered about 3,000 B.C. It is mostly cultivated in India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Indonesia, Iran and Argentina. In these countries, tea is one of the largest agricultural products produced. There is a growing demand for tea worldwide because of its many health benefits. Tea is a favorite drink for social get together as a form of relaxation. There are many ways to enjoy tea as there are many varieties. The growing of tea is used not only as a favorite beverage, but has healing properties against life threatening diseases, and used in many cosmetic products. Those who practice drinking tea have developed healthy eating habits.

The many benefits for drinking tea are numerous. All teas contain health substances for the heart, body and mind. Green tea is rich in antioxidant which protects against heart disease, cholesterol, prevents the growth of tumors, cancer and fight allergies. Black tea can lower the risk of heart disease. Teas do not have any carbohydrate, fat, or protein. Tea can also lower blood pressure and reduce stress on the heart.. .

Both green and black tea can fight cancer. Black, green, white, and oolong teas derive their leaves from a warm-weather evergreen tree known as Camellia sinensis. Higher quality teas may have more antioxidants than lower quality teas. Freshly brewed teas have more polyphenol antioxidants than instant or bottled teas. Antioxidants found in tea can prevent death from a second heart attack by helping blood vessels relax. Those who drink tea regularly are less likely to suffer from heart attacks.

Tea leaves contain essential oils which help in digestion and green tea is known to help in weight loss. The oil produced from the tea tree has been used by the indigenous people in Australia to treat eczema, acne, cuts and bruises. The tea leaves when crushed, release essential oils that is effective against bacteria, fungi and viruses. The tea tree oil is used in a wide variety of cosmetics. From creams, ointments to shampoos and astringents. The most valuable uses of tea tree oil have to do with the skin.

Tea leaves also contain natural caffeine. Overuse of tea can result in harmful side effects like certain sleep disorders. Caffeine is an addictive drug. Caffeine is water soluble. If you lower the water temperature used, less caffeine will be released. Caffeine helps stimulate the heart and circulatory system, which aids in keeping the walls of blood vessels soft to help prevent arteriosclerosis. Caffeine content of a tea bush varies by the part of the bush used for leaf tea. It is not yet known if removing caffeine also removes polyphenols in the decaffeinating process.

Tea tree oil has been used as an antiseptic and to treat skin problem like spots, acne and blackheads etc. Dry hair can also be treated with tea tree oil. Tea tree oil in a moisturizing shampoo will help to unblock sebaceous glands and encourage the flow of the body's own moisturizing oils, and clear away dead skin cells. Dry skin brushing and using a body lotion with tea tree oil will help to repair and smooth injuries. By adding ten drops of pure oil to your favorite day or night cream can help moisturize and smooth skin. It promotes younger looking skin by destroying free radicals. Tea tree oil may be a better alternative to conventional skin treatments.

With all these benefits, one can get from tea, no wonder it is in such high demand. The small amount of caffeine found in tea, should be taken in consideration to derive the benefits that one gets from drinking tea.
