carrier oils

Since the discovery of good oils and the press thereafter, many have asked the obvious question, which oils are good and which are bad? And moreover, which good oils are the best? More than one body oil and expert for that matter has tried to answer this question, and though many do it in their own self interest, there are some that can be trusted and have found the right information. There are some body oils based on the right oils, and there are scientists backing them up. So how does the average consumer find the facts? I have come up with a basic list of some of the best oils that you can find in a good body oil to refresh and renew skin while even relaxing sore muscles.

1. Rose oil-rose oil is of course distilled from rose petals. But what many may not realize when they pay more for rose oil is that just one oz of rose oil actually requires thousands of rose petals! So for manufacturers, it is expensive to say the least. But many would say that it is well worth the cost, especially in an otherwise diversified body oil. It has been used as an antidepressant, anti phlogistic, antiseptic, antiviral, astringent, antibacterial, relaxant, and for many other benefits in general.

2. Gold oil-though not a traditional carrier oil, gold has actually been recently discovered as one of the most powerful antioxidants on earth. So how does this relate to your skin and a body oil for that matter? Antioxidants kill off free radicals. Free radicals damage skin, breaking down cells and leading to dull and prematurely aging skin. By eliminating these, you bring back a youthful and healthy glow to the skin in general.

3. Grape seed oil-this believe or not is absolutely essential to truly superior skincare. Only the best body oils use grape seed oil. But if used properly, it increases blood circulation right under the skin, therefore increasing nutrient flow and preventing premature aging. It naturally moisturizes and even provides the skin with powerful antioxidants and essential vitamins and minerals. Some have even reported that grape seed oil reduces inflammation and muscle pain.

4. Sunflower oil-This is one of the most popular and one of the best carrier oils out there. Sunflower seeds are naturally rich in vitamin E, omega fatty acids, and antioxidants. It reduces inflammation, naturally moisturizes and nourishes the skin, and otherwise brings the skin back to life. In studies conducted in hospitals, doctors found that newborns using sunflower oil were actually 41% less likely to develop infections than the placebo group.

5. Sweet Almond Oil-this oil is often used in aromatherapy, and it has been known to properly lubricate and moisturize the skin with good omega fatty acids. It is an effective emollient and is rich in powerful antioxidants to reduce inflammation as well as various essential vitamins and minerals.

6. Camellia seed oil-used by Geishas in traditional Japanese culture, camellia seed oil has been known to rejuvenate and moisturize the skin. It has been known to restore the skin, and it is essentially speaking a derivative of green tea. It is of course known for its antioxidant content and related anti inflammatory, anti-aging, and benefits to the skin as a whole, and it has been known to be appropriate for even the most sensitive of skin. It is rich in vitamins A, B, and E as well as oleic acids, and it should be used in every oil worthy of use.

7. Apricot Kernel Oil-most people don’t think of apricots for moisturization or skincare in general for that matter. But apricot kernel oil is absolutely essential to the best body oils. It is a carrier oil that is readily absorbed into the skin without leaving oily residue behind, and it is rich in vitamins A & E which are two of just 3 vitamins recognized as beneficial to the skin even in nonessential amounts. It is also rich in oleic and linoleic acid, providing the moisturizing and antioxidant benefits, and nobody should go without it.
